Yes, how could I forget that. I hate when gloss runs DAWN out of the nostrils. And babies with red noses, they look so cold sick to me. And when cupid bow spot under nose shaded in a shade of lips that poor baby appears like it has cleft lip.
I am glad I am not the only one who really dislikes this! So unnatural looking!
I am opposite. I don’t like just straight lashes on sleeping babies. Both of my grandkids had very long curvy eyelashes that they do curv even with a closed eyes. Of course closed eyes curv is not as they had their eyes open.
Not to hijack here, but the way that I get them is by doing them with the tip of a rooting needle in an off white color. I do them near the end, but still buried under a few layers of paint. It takes forever!
I think they’ve just described everyone’s babies!
I’d like to add fingers and toes that are not well shaded. It irks me to see beautifully painted dolls with little to no shading between the fingers and toes. It’s like- you were doing so great, why did you stop?!
I forgot to mention house mess and clutter behind a baby in the pictures.
If people don’t care how their present their creation, I would not trust that quality work was put into them.
What’s a turn off for one it’s not for another, don’t worry !
I personally don’t care if they have milla or pimples or scratches, don’t care about the nails, or pictures…
I’m so picky where do I even start?
Flat skintone (No shading or highlighted skin on ethnic babies)
One color scheme (usually red)
Underpainted baby
Lack of blending
Ridiculously long hair on a smaller baby
Poorly placed brows (expression is everything)
Pluggy rooting
Super white milia and pimples
Super stuffed body
Smaller babies without lanugo (hair that doesn’t blend well on the face)
Gross pimples or huge red scratches.
Hair rooted too far apart and too long, making it stringy looking
Babies in impossible poses
So much gloss on nose and eyes the baby looks sick
Mouths cut open with a bottle smashed inside
Photos of babies with crooked pacifiers
Eyebrow hairs drawn in the wrong direction
I am speaking of crimping iron curled lol
Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! I personally think it’s should be consider a reborn crime!
And one more thing for me to add: applied lashes on sleeping babies.
Curved is fine, I understand that. But some people make them point directly upwards! If I see a picture of one I’ll have to show you so you can hate it too
This too!
This is also making me laugh because I remember back to when I was on Facebook there would be photos of girls dressed up, beautiful makeup and hair, trying to look all sexy, standing on a mountain of laundry with a dirty toilet behind them.
I agree! I just want to reach through the screen and pop them.
Umbilical cords.
Yes! Or just having a black belly button when there isn’t a stump molded
Lol every time I read someone’s list I keep looking over to my nearly finished Patience kit to check if I’ve done one of these things! I think I’m guilty of a few.
Noticing this trend, even on prototypes. Reminds me of the movie “What Ever Happened to Mary Jane” and a teacher I worked with when she was having an “off” day. I never knew if she was off her meds or on some really good ones.
My style of painting normally reflects an infant(2 months+), not a newborn. I’ve only seen a handful of artists that can pull off a realistic newly newborn look. So, I do put the white nail tips and moons on mine, as I have seen infants with those. Their nail tips were as white as mine, until they were clipped down.
Those babies with red outside their lips look like they’ve been eating red popsicles to me. What is that supposed to be?
Thick, crusty, caked up, dirty looking creases!
