Update Front Page on Reborns

Ya that’s what I mean. You don’t get a preview of the message in the email anymore. You have to actually open the message in your reborn inbox and then it shows you’ve read it. That would be fine if you can reply right away, but if you can’t for whatever reason now your customer will just think you aren’t replying.

I like it. Now I’ll know if they read my email and are just ghosting me instead of wondering if they got it.

I had a message this morning…the only reason I know is it went to my Gmail account. I replied thru gmail.

The message is not in my inbox on reborns.

I have no clue where it is…

Do you think you got the message before he changed the system?

I was getting several messages yesterday and wondering why it was this way. I like to be able to scan them in my emails too when on the go. But overall it is not horrible. I like knowing when they have read them as well so it is a toss up.

I agree. I have not listed on reborns in nearly a year, but I still get messages. I see them because I check my email. I do not go to reborns.com when I have nothing to sell and am not interested in buying so I will not be as likely to reply to those messages.

Well he changed it back but who knows if it will stay that way now or not. :woman_shrugging:

Did Dave get rid of the feature that showed how many blocks someone had?

No it’s there. Go to your inbox and is shows under the person’s name along with how many purchases they have and how long they have been on reborns. If you aren’t seeing it, it might be because you don’t have a paid membership?

Ahh ok it’s because I haven’t renewed my membership. Thanks

My understanding is You can only block someone if you received a message from them.

Another update to reborns

So you now have a fee to post a listing with additional fees depending on the price of your item and how many followers you have for the email to be sent out to them. $10 of your $30 membership goes to credits for these fees but with a listing fee (especially for higher priced items), and emailing fee (depending on number of followers) and general featuring fees you are going to eat through that $10 pretty quickly.

So. we’ll now have to pay extra to feature and again to be seen in just listed? I must be missing something here. And there’s an emailing fee too? How exactly does that benefit us? Seems like the people with the most money will get better listings. Doesn’t sound great to me.

You have to now pay for a newly listed item. The cost of that depends on the cost of your item and how many followers you have. You also still have to pay to feature your items if you want anything to circulate to the front page at all.

Is that to have it show in Just Listed or for any doll you list? How much do you have to pay if you sell something? The cost isn’t the same for everybody? This doesn’t sound fair at all to me. What the heck does membership cover? Nothing?

Yes to have it show in just listed there is a cost now. $10 of it comes from your $30 membership, but once you use that $10 up you have to pay extra to have the credit to list anymore items or feature them. If you don’t pay then it only stays in your nursery. The membership fee just takes your membership out of free mode so people can see it without you having to share the link. If you don’t feature anything then nothing will show outside of your nursery. There is no fee on a sale, all the fees are on listing and featuring. The cost is not the same for everyone. People with higher priced dolls and more followers will have to pay more. I miss the good old days when you paid your membership and everyone’s dolls circulated around. I don’t like having to spend the extra time everyday worrying about what is featuring. And as someone with higher priced dolls and over 1000 followers, the higher amounts suck. The one thing I am glad about is that Dave decided to hold off on this change until after Christmas. In the past it would have happened just as high sales were happening and caused a huge ruckus. The $10 also has an expiry so you can’t roll it over and accumulate it if it’s not used.

To my understanding, if you just pay the monthly fee and decline to select any advertising options then at least your dolls will show up when people use the website’s search feature.

If you don’t pay at all, then your dolls won’t show up in searches.

The email thing is annoying but it doesn’t surprise me. It’s just like YouTube or any other social media, you may have “subscribers” (he calls them followers) but you don’t own their personal information or the ability to contact them if they’ve only met you though someone else’s website. If you want to create and own an email list then you need to collect the email addresses of your customers separately.

Iss it 10$ for any level of membership? I mean if you pay for a 3 months plan, usually you get a %discount so is it by slice of 30$ or 10$ per months. And how much would be this fee. 0,30$ or 2$. I don’t really understand the goal of all this.
