Here is his breakdown example of some of the pricing.
When you pay to have it in Just Listed how long does it stay there? Can you Just List more than one at a time? Why does it have to be so complicated? Having dolls only seen in the nursery is hardly beneficial for sales.
I’ve read it multiple times on reborns and I still don’t understand it. So annoying!
It is like trying to understand and read Chinese, no offense to Chinese, but way more energy and smarts than I have. I too have read his information several times, it is insane. Then there is also the area where you pick the times and days you want to show the dolls. OMGosh:face_vomiting:
Oh boy is Dave ever getting blasted over there. I’m not commenting because, again, I don’t get it. It’s supposed to help the people who only post two to three dolls a month. That would be me so maybe it will be good. But who knows?
He always says he’s trying to help but it always seems like it makes things worse.
How does it help to have to pay extra or only have your dolls listed in your nursery and nowhere else on the site? I don’t remember a time when $10 in credits was included in the membership fee. I’ve always had to purchase them separately. Now he says they’re included and it costs $10 to buy more. Does that mean you have 20 credits for the price of 10? Do the extra fees give you more time in Featured? Sometimes it’s only a matter of hours before yours gets bumped. How long will it stay in Just Listed?
I don’t get it, either. How is it going to help the people with small or infrequent listings if your credits expire if not used within the month and the people with larger, more expensive listings will just buy however many credits they want and get more exposure?
always only himself
So after uploading a kit to reborns, I used 1 out of 9 credits. But now it shows I have 7.75 credits…
I don’t know why.
The kit was worth .25 credits to feature.
Edit to add this that I copied off the site. Part of Dave’s reply to someone.
You can post items to the marketplace and advertise them as much as you want and schedule them as well. Items cost various amounts of credit to list, feature or showcase. There is a price list that shows what everything costs in credits. you can see this on the advertising page. For example it still costs 1 credit to Feature an item (like before). And now it costs .25 credits to Showcase an item. For the Just Listed section, that price is determined by the cost of your item. For example, to list a $75 item it only costs .5 credits, but to list a $3000 doll, it would cost 3 credits.
It really discourages new people from joining because it keeps getting more and more complicated
When you pay to have it just listed how long it stays there depends on how many other people are also posting in the just listed as each one after you post pushes yours further and further down the page. You can list as many as you want at one time. It is all definitely more complicated all I want to do is list a doll and have it circulate around and not have to spend all the extra time worrying about featuring daily.
So one person, if they buy enough credits, can technically take all the Feature spaces until they get bumped off one at a time?
Did your followers get emailed too because that’s also a fee.
Also, I realized that I had auto feature checked from before, and it was still checked off, so it has automatically been spending my credits on me. I shut that off. I don’t need the computer picking a five dollar item to feature over a baby and charging me for it.
Yes that’s possible
This used to be, in my opinion, the best site to sell reborns on. Not anymore. I’d rather he raise the membership fee $5 and leave everything else the way it was so we don’t have to do all that futzing around to list our dolls. There’s already an overload of filters and I honestly don’t see how these changes will benefit me unless I spend more money. I don’t think he’s going to change it back.
It’s super hard to understand. I don’t think it’s even possible until you start using it and start learning what happens. It’s very overwhelming.
Seems like he’s become a tyrant. Not happy.
So, if we’re paying the $30 and now have to pay extra to be seen, pretty much, then why bother with a membership? It doesn’t seem much different from not having one and just having your nursery on the site and advertising it yourself for free. Why can’t he just leave it alone when it works well for artists? If we stop using his site then maybe he’ll stop doing this. He reminds me more of eBay now.
I just noticed there is even a fee to make a coming soon listing. I use that feature quite often and then when I’m ready I just changed it to for sale. I guess that means I’m going to be charged for a coming soon listing and then again When I make it active and it becomes a just listed item. I likely will not be posting any more coming soon listings
