Update Front Page on Reborns

I liked life better when everything was simpler. When you sold something, they paid you. Done. None of these unauthorized chargebacks, buyer’s remorse and someone else randomly refunding what you were paid without getting your item back. When it didn’t cost the same to ship a silk scarf or a heavy sweater.

I learned from other artists here who lists on Reborns - you do multiple postings like XXX 1st payment, put doll on reserved, then do separate listing for the 2nd payment and send Secret URL, ets. Each payments counts like a sell.

That sounds like a pain. Invoices were better.

You still can do invoicing like you did before if you don’t care about your seller count.

Fine with me. I don’t have enough sales to matter.

If someone wants a payment plan for a doll they saw on reborns, I send an invoice through PayPal. I don’t care if they can leave a review or not. It’s not that important to me.

My husband just shared with me his theory on Stripe. He suspects the company sold out to China, who is our known enemy, and they are doing this to take money. Robbery without any recourse because they are international. I hope this is not the case. This is horrific and I feel so bad for all who are having to deal with this.

Very well could be…an awful lot of theories have actually been truth these days.

I’m like @jeanhai I liked the simpler days…too many fingers in everyone’s pie these days…

I just wanted to share a miracle!! Stripe did not close my account! They actually approved my identity verification, which is odd because I was never able to add more info for them to consider, but I’m not complaining!! I’m so freaking relieved! I cannot even tell you the stress and sleepless nights I’ve had worrying about financial ruin these past days.

As soon as my transfer hits my bank account I’m closing my stripe account, it’s just too stressful for me to use. I’ve also read a bunch of stories about a week or 2 after ID verification accounts being closed and funds being taken back, it’s just too much of a risk.

I did post about it on reborns, Dave said he will be adding square as an option! So for now I won’t be selling on reborns as you have to select a payment option now of either PayPal or stripe, but as soon as he has square set up I’ll go back

I am so sorry you had to go through this and so happy it has been resolved. I don’t blame you for leaving them after this! I for one will not be signing up on Stripe after some of the horrid things I have read happening to people.

Thank goodness! I’m so happy for you! How is square different from PayPal? I know you’ve mentioned it a bit before, but I am curious of the major differences?

It’s a business payment processor, so the buyer doesn’t get an account or anything. You can have a card reader for in person sales, send invoices, payment links or have it linked to a website and when they check out they just enter credit card info, afterpay whatever payment method they want to use and pay, just like buying something from any online store. They offer free websites, which you can link your inventory and payments to. Funds are deposited into your square account, you can use a card to spend it or transfer it to another bank account.

I think the biggest differences are that only you have an account, no peer to peer money transfers, so all transactions are protected via credit card, it’s full service for small businesses, and that they are geared towards protecting sellers. I’ve never had a charge back, but I know a couple of people who have and square went to bat for them with the credit card company and it was sided in their favor. I just really like them, I’ve never had an issue, it’s really easy to get customer service, fees are really reasonable. Mine are lower because I’ve been a customer for so long, I pay 1.8% processing fees, but I think new people pay 2.9%

They do have premium options if you want additional benefits or integrations, but I find the free version gives me everything I need.

So glad it got approved so that you don’t have a nightmare. I’d close my account, too. Who needs to wait on pins and needles in a kind of life or death guessing game just to get them to approve you?? That is so ridiculous.

I’ll definitely try Square. I hope they don’t do what Stripe is doing.

That’s not a bad idea

I am not liking not being able to see a preview of my messages. Sometimes I read them quickly but I don’t have time to respond or I want time to think of my response before I answer. Now this is going to make it look like I’m just leaving customers on read which looks rude.

I don’t think it will mark it as read if you check it in your emails.

It doesn’t show the message in emails anymore either. Just tells you you have a message you need to check on the website. It’s an awful update!
