Hi! I am so new to reborning and I have a question I was hoping you could help me with… I am an artist in Florida in another art genre and use liquitex for my painintings and didn’t want to invest in a whole other paint type if this is a passing phase (although I think I will stick with paintings babies too…lol)… Anyway… I am having trouble with the paint beading up on the vinyl… with the mottling layers especially… any suggestions? I use Liquitex paints for all my babies. As long as you’re using the professional ones you shouldn’t have to switch paints. Are you adding any Liquitex Ultra Matte Gel to your paints? It helps with beading.

I just ordered the LUMG from Michaels… I thought thats what I had, but it is the varnish and NOT the gel… Yes, Professional grade is my jam for most of my art!

How much gel do you add to your paint? Half paint half gel or less gel?
I use about a pea size blob of matte gel to 1 ounce of mixed paint.

I also use the ultra matte gel in my paint mix. Another thing is not to over saturate the brush or sponges that you are applying the paint mix with.
