Everyone is right…I shouldn’t let scammers spoil one of the most recognizable kits (in my opinion). I went all in on this baby before I even started reborning myself. I was so in love at first sight…right after seeing an Avatar reborn (first reborn I ever saw), I saw Youtuber Graveyardgirl/Bananapeppers unbox a vampire Saskia and I was hooked. Just seeing toes or a finger in an unboxing video…I could tell it was a Saskia immediately because I memorized every inch of that kit.
Plus, reading everyone’s responses about what they like and don’t like about certain kits really got me thinking. I can immediately name numerous reasons why I don’t immediately choose any of the kits I listed, but when it comes to Saskia,…afraid of painting the inside of the mouth and worrying about other people’s opinions (not anyone here, just random strangers on the internet who shouldn’t matter) are the only reasons I can think of not to get her…basically dumb reasons. I was worrying about stupid things, like always getting asked if my Saskia is real and feeling like I would have to prove she is, which like @YelenaRey said, I know I’m buying from a reputable retailer so what does it matter. People can think she’s fake all they want, I know she’s legit, y’all know she’s legit…who cares what some rando on the internet thinks.
The next baby on my list after Saskia will be a Levi (which I will ask for his kit for my 40th Birthday this year). That way I get the best of both worlds…my dream kit (which I’m paying for myself) and a highly recommended close 2nd kit. Levi will definitely be a 2022 baby.
My goal is to finish the 8 kits I currently have to paint and have them listed by October or November at the latest, so I can start on Saskia to have her ready by Christmas of this year.
Saskia was the very first baby I saw that I got absolutely obsessed with and I am so glad it’s not one of those long sold out kits . The first Saskia I saw was reborned by Cassie Reed from Doves Nursery. I was looking for artist websites when I decided I could start saving up for a baby and I thought her Saskia was so so adorable. Of course, her babies are way out of my budget but they are still so darling.
I have definitely grown to memorize and recognize every little inch of this sculpt it’s ridiculous . I love the feet, the precious little toes and that absolutely perfect leg roll. The chubby cheeks are to die for and that tongue is perfectly sculpted I must say.
Saskias size is one of my favorite things about her. I love Maddie’s size just as much, both sizes are so perfect for me.
I also love how different Saskia can look. She is so perfectly versatile. Although no matter how different she could look, I would still recognize her

You are totally fine! We can obsess over Saskia together! It’s nice to meet someone who feels the same way about her sculpt as I do! To think I almost let her slip away from me over foolishness.
Reading your comment made me more excited to get her! Yes, I love how each artist makes them look different, yet still the same…they all get to put their own personal touch on her. I cannot wait till October/November!!! I’m excited I have something to look forward to this year! I’ll order the kit now, so I’ll already have her secured.
I’ve had Maddie in my stash for quite some time but was avoiding her because I don’t really like to paint big babies. I pulled her out and started on her just to get her out of the way but discovered I am really enjoying her. Every time I flip her head around to face me when painting she is smiling at me as though she approves of what I am doing.
I was thinking the same as you. Until I painted them.
I still don’t like any of their faces, but the details of them are incredible. I can paint them again and again.
I have painted Liam Saskia and Levi. Liam is a Toddler not Cuddly but I love him. Saskia has that one straight leg and her mouth takes a modified paci. I painted her for my self but gave her away because I followed a Tutorial,. Painted her again for that special person in my life (Hubby) I like her but not for me. Levi my favorite. I love holding him he is still my favorite and my go to baby. I love his mouth and the paci is easy to fit and install. I may paint a Tink one day.

There was weird talk about it being a copy. But why the heck would one of the top sculptors copy another top sculptor who are acquaintances and go to the same doll shows??? LOL
They have obvious similarities. But personally I dislike Gertie. Her mouth shape is just not my thing.
