Edited to say I have gone with my original dream kit Saskia due to feedback and realizations
Okay, I do realize I already have enough kits to work on, but this kit will be way down the road (to avoid it being discontinued before I can get one…on some of my choices) and when I mean down the road…I’m thinking possibly my Christmas present to myself if not the first kit of 2022.
I really want to paint at least 1 Bonnie Brown sculpt. Saskia used to be my dream kit when I first discovered reborns, but was ruined due to her being stolen/faked like crazy. Stupid scammers ruined her for me.
I’m torn between the following:
Levi
Maddie
Tink
Twin B (though I’m not crazy about 3/4 limbs)
Just looking for opinions for or against any of the kits on my list. If you have reborned any of these yourself, please feel free to share here…especially if you have photos of them blank.
I have painted both TwinB and Levi (Saskia too). I prefer the size and limbs of Levi but dislike his mouth. Twin B, I didn’t like him at first, but he is amazing to paint. Mouth can be a challenge tho. It really depends on the size you want, there’s a difference between Maddie and TwinB…
This time around size isn’t a factor for me… once I fit 3 month Joseph in a Nuwave…I no longer have a fear of large kits anymore (unless Maddie is way bigger than Joseph, then I might have to reconsider). lol
Yes, exactly! I have heard that Levi is one of the best cuddling kits…that’s why I added him to my list. Plus, out of all of them, he’s the only one that currently says “Open, but limited time.” I would hate to miss him if he’s the one that’s chosen.
That’s the thing, he’s really cute, but nothing screams gotta have him except the cuddle factor and him being asleep (I have too many awake…I need a sleeper). lol I also wonder if the shape of his lips make attaching a magnetic pacifier difficult.
If I were to go off of just face, it would be between Tink and Maddie. The only thing keeping them from being 100% gotta have choices, is Maddie’s price right now and Tink’s eyes, only because I’ve heard that a lot of the prototype artists opened her eyes up more, but I don’t know by how much…it’s her big eyes that I’ve always loved about the kit only to find out they may not be as big as I had thought.
Trouble by Nikki Johnston has similar limbs, in fact her right leg and levi’s right leg (I think it was the right anyway) were identical. I thought that was strange. But she is not near as cuddly. It’s definitely the limbs in total, legs and arms.
@RosieCait Thank you for reconfirming how cuddly he is. How is he with a pacifier? Does his lip shape make it tough to fit a magnetic pacifier?
Maybe I should stick with my original dream kit of Saskia…maybe I cast her aside too soon. Why should I let frauds and scammers dictate a sculpt for myself? I will be purchasing from Macphersons, so I’ll know it’s legit. I’m just afraid of her mouth. Like I don’t know if I could paint the inside of her mouth realistically…the same with Twin B…the mouth is open just enough to scare me off because I don’t know if I can pull off a realistic look.
I found him very easy to put a magnetic pacifier on. However after painting him I grew to hate the kit. His limbs make him cuddly but he isn’t easy to pose other than curled up.
The only one of these kits I haven’t painted is Maddie, and she’s the only one I actually like
My 2 c - I didn’t paint any of them because I dislike all of them.
Levi - I hate when he posed with hands in front of him like he is always so cold and shivering. But curious to paint him in the future just to see what the whole deal about him is.
Maddie - hate her sausage looking arms and her look overall.
Tink - always looks so scared and she is so little that I realized her size only at IDTS.
Twin B - 3/4 limbs, gaping mouth like he/she and his/her twin having severe cold together and cannot breath. Very small kit also.
So it leave Saskia - strock baby.
I don’t know why scammers ruined her for you if she was #1 dream kit on your list. You know that you will paint original, what difference does it make?
Maddie or Twin B. I love Twin B but I’ve never owned that sculpt before. Although he has 3/4 arms, he doesnt have 3/4 legs so at least they arent swinging around all over the place lol. I’ve made 3 Maddie’s and I think they are just so sweet. I love her size too.
I understand Saskia is a big, big deal in the scam world but I still love her to death. Gotta support the sculptor still 🤷. I’ve made 2 Saskias and I plan to reborn more in the future. I have had one custom Saskia made by someone else for me and I still have him. My Pride and Joy. My collection wouldn’t be complete without him.
