I know, I figured since they said that you will be approved, they’ll look for your name when you create the account, maybe the tax ID…you can just list that you were “pre-approved”

So they are allowing some people in without a sellers license?
In my state, Ohio, it’s called a wholesale tax exemption certificate. I had a hard time finding it also, I got it so long ago I don’t remember exactly what term I searched though.
I believe he retracted on his original statement due to LOTS of negative feedback. Originally he DID say that sales would discontinue on the regular site once the wholesale site got up and running. Lots and lots of customers complained. And then they also probably realized not as many would sign up for the wholesale site like they assumed.
Personally, I think they should have just bought a computer program to deal with the taxes. I’m sure there are some out there. That would have been cheaper than handling 2 sites. And probably they could add a spot on the regular site for people to add their tax exempt id at checkout for those who have them. But adding a second site is going to make more overhead for them and it probably turned a lot of customers away.

I got that email too. What state are you in? Originally he said people who were in states not requiring internet tax would automatically be approved. I’m in Texas. I’ve never been charged tax on any internet purchase. So I tried to join the wholesale site last week but was declined. So I wonder if these emails were sent to people in the tax free states.
Is what they are doing tax evasion? Because if it is and they get caught, it could be the end of Bountiful Baby 
I hope it’s not.

I’m in Colorado and I’m unsure, when I’ve purchased from BB in the past, I was never charged any taxes

No. It’s not tax evasion. But if they can get most people over to the tax free site, it will make the tax filing on the other site easier. And like they said, people with a tax exempt number have been paying unnecessary tax. The new site will give them the ability to not pay taxes. As for those of us in states that don’t get charged internet tax, the checkout automatically calculates it for us to not pay tax.

Is that a quote from the most recent email? The most recent one I got after one that said that said the current retail site will also have sales etc

I also got a pre-approval email. I have no state tax license number though. It will not allow me to proceed without one.

I don’t know but in the email it said,”you WILL be approved” so I just figured it might work
I gave it a try. I figured there’s nothing to lose.
