So I drink a lot of Vodka and then I won’t mind so much that I have to strip her with Windsor and Newton, is that it? But seriously, VODKA?

Yes, vodka…seriously.

Yes!!! Use just like Windsor Newton!!! You can drink some too! And take the edge off! Lol air dry sounds more and more perfect!

Vodka No kidding. Use it on the kit, not yourself.

I’ve found that my Larry Blick kit doesn’t take paint well. Even the replacement head, while a little better than the one I melted, still doesn’t take the paint quite right and some of it seems to absorb into the vinyl. So, I am adding more layers. I wonder if the vinyl is different on these recent kits; maybe the factory is doing something different?

I hope she turns out well for you and that you can feel good about her when she’s finally done. How very frustrating.

I really wanted that one! Thanks for the heads up! Lol

I am sure it would work; Vodka is high % alcohol, but it makes rather expensive alternative to isopropyl alcohol

I have a Larry… And was about to pay for Mary Anne. Maybe I’ll let it go to someone else! Lisa scherer was a nightmare… I don’t need another one this close together! :scream:

I don’t use air dry and haven’t done Mary Ann Blick, but this forum post was such fun to read. You made me laugh. :joy:

I am working on Mary Ann right now and she does have a slick feel to the vinyl. Paint seems to react differently on it. I am not happy yet with her flesh color. I will try different washes to try and make her come alive. She is still early in the stages of painting.

This thread is too funny. So sorry Mary Ann isn’t behaving. Maybe you should give her a time out  I can understand your stress. Don’t give up!

I really wanted that kit, I must add. So beautiful. One day

I agree, Ludmila. It is an expensive alternative.
