What is one thing that you have done in your life time that you feel gave you the the most happiness and/or contentment?
Becoming a mother. The moment my son was born, I felt more peaceful and right than at any time in my life before or since. Maybe I enjoy reborning in an attempt to recapture a bit of that feeling.
I said “YES” to my soulmate 39 years ago and I would say “YES” again today if he would be so inclined to ask
EDIT: I have two beautiful daughters and four wonderful grandkids also, but without the previous mentioned soulmate, not of them would have been possible. That “YES” was the beginning of my happiness
I think one of my most favorite moments of my life was laying in a hospital bed watching the doctor put my surrogate baby, Jaxxon, into his mommy’s arms for the very first time! She and Daddy cried sooooo much! It was amazing!!! She couldn’t carry babies, so I got to do it for her. Here’s us a day or two after he was born. My husband and I are on the left, Mommy and Daddy on the right with the baby. I was really white cuz I lost like 50% of my blood right after delivery. Still worth it!
If that was to me, thanks.
Their story got even cooler! The mom’s younger sister carried their 2nd baby for them. He’s almost a year now! Isn’t that so awesome?
Giving birth to my sons definitely tops my lifetime achievement list, right up there with marrying my husband almost 38 years ago. BUT…finding my brother Michael in January of 2011 after we’d been separated since November of 1963 is right up there!
My sons and I flew to FL to meet him and his family in May of 2011 and I even got our Mom to fly down to FL with me in November of 2011 so she and Michael could be reunited. THAT ALONE was a miracle! In July of 2012, my awesome husband, sons, and I sold our house, quit our jobs, and moved here to FL ~ here’s Michael and me, they way we were:
I took becoming a big sister very seriously; here with our Granny when Michael was a month old. She died in the 1980’s, never knowing what happened to me or where I was:
1959 when he was 1 and I was 3:
Michael’s 4th birthday in our back yard:

Christmas of 1962 with our Mom ~ little did we know it would be our last one till 2011:

Here we are with Mom again, in November of 2011:

Michael and me, first Christmas together since 1962 ~ this was December 2012:

Not saying it’s all been a bed of roses, in some ways he and I picked right up where we left off, our connection runs deep and we feel truly blessed to have each other. In other ways we are still getting to know each other, it’s an ongoing, ever-changing process but I wouldn’t trade one minute that we spend together for anything in the world.
Editing to change this… After some thought I realized my original story was really like the coolest thing that happened but the single thing I did that gave me the MOST happiness/contentment was when I was about 10 years old my step sister and I shared a room and she’s 3 years older than me and we had got on the subject of God late one night and she told me if I wasn’t saved I wouldn’t go to heaven. I didn’t understand although I had been to church most of my life it wasn’t talked a lot in my house and my mother didn’t go to church and I had only recently moved in with my dad, anyway it really scared me! I r,ember feeling genuinely afraid but she told me not to worry all you do is pray and ask Jesus into your heart and she helped me pray and I’m in no way joking here I felt Him come into my heart. I rember feeling warm, peaceful, content and safe all at the same time. I’ve felt Him do that in my life 4 times. That was the single best thing that given me the most happiness and contentment
Sorry to change the story of mine but that one takes it for me
When my first Grandson was born, I was in the room with my daughter, he was 2 months early, almost didn’t make it. He will be 21 this year, and doing well.
I would have to say, becoming a first time mom…such a special time…!!
The birth of my sons were the two happiest days of my life. That was the most important thing I ever did in my life.
All 5 births of my kidlets. But #3 and #5 were a bit more hectic.
With baby #3 my placenta was failing so we induced out of state at a hospital with a NICU in case her lungs were not ready… my induction went super fast (from 6cm to fully dialated in 20 minutes with only a cervix softener) so the Dr. wasn’t even there yet he was still at home. The nurse ran out to call him so he could come in… then I yelled at Hubby to get her cause I needed to push… so he ran after her… then another contraction… and I yelled NOW! and they heard OW and I had the baby onto the hospital bed with no one in the room! Hubby ran in and picked her up off the bed and unwrapped the cord from her. Then the nurse ran in and took the baby and got blankets and stuff to warm her, and had Hubby pull the emergency cord to get more personal in there. Then my Dr showed up… It had been 10 minutes since she called him…
Then her nasal passages were slim so we had to transfer to the children’s wing of the hospital so I made them release me as a patient so I could go with her. I was discharged within 12 hours and we spent 2 more days in the baby’s room until she could breath and eat at the same time. She also vomited like crazy out her nose and mouth and would turn colors cause it blocked her airways and we had to keep calm and suction it out so she could breath. She is fine and healthy now.
And baby #5 - my water broke 1 month early and hubby was sick. I kept sending him home cause he had to wear a mask while in the room with me… so he would watch our other 4 kids then come back every few hours… and have my Mom watch them so he could check on me. The last time I sent him home and after some progress I text him that he should head back now. Then told the nurse I was So done with this! She thought I meant I wanted an epidural… lol. Nope I meant I was going to have the baby soon. We live within 15 minutes of the hospital and I had her before Hubby got there… lol. I looked at him when he walked in after I had her and said “Sorry…”
he missed her birth by a few minutes
*sorry so long
Ummm… the day I walked out of a 22 year marriage, got divorced, and found myself again!
Of course there are the kiddos and now the grands that are right up there with that “freedom” feeling LOL!
And of course my Bob…he makes me more content than I have ever been
The day my granddaughter was born and I became a grandma was the best day of my life
My heart felt love in a way I never knew existed and then 13 months later my grandson was born and the love doubled!! And I just found out a few days ago I’m gonna be a grandma again!!! Is it really possible to triple such love
Yes it is!..lol ![]()
The best moments for me are marrying my beloved husband 25 years ago and the births of our two daughters xx
Beautiful stories ladies…very heart warming!
The thing that made me the happiest was actually two days ago. My neighbors took Vince and I to see a woman with ALS. She loves these dolls so much! We told her that I would be making one for her; she was beyond excited! The smile on her face!! She ran in to tell her husband and her caregiver how excited she was!
That was a beautiful story and made me cry like a baby! Thanks for sharing
Love all these heartwarming stories! Thanks for sharing everyone.
Mandy…you go girl. So glad you are happy and content now
