Even .25 is an additional $7.50 each month. Featuring is hardly worth it for any length of time because they stay there for such a short time, sometimes just a couple of hours.

That 7.50 would be from the included 10.
So not additional.
I agree the showcased time can be very short. Which sucks.
But that leaves some for listing still. And emails. But again that varies with each artist and their listing.

I liked it better when things were more straightforward without all these filters, lists, ranges, categories/sub categories, etc. that many people probably don’t even use and some, like specifying a particular sculpt, don’t even work well.

I absolutley hate the new changes. I paid for my renewal a few hours before the change rolled out and wish i didnt. I had okay sales there but not enough to justify this idiocy. Hes making close to 20k a MONTH with memberships. Not including bearpile. The music one and the BJD sites he also runs. I wonder if he made changes to those sites too or just sticks it to us. His bread winner.
Im trying etsy and onlyreborns now. I wont be back tkll i see changes that help ME. I keep hearing about how he needs more money for this that and the other thing but offers ME zilch. I felt like i paid $30 for $10 worth of service. Thats it for me. Then he menioned wanting us to fight it out to be externally advertised on social media playforms that also cost him $0.00
If youre gping to raise the fees tell us what WE gain not what you gain. Which seems to be all i see. Compairing to evay when he does 0 external advertising is insulting. Considering WE have been the word of mouth that made his site what it is. Without US his site is nothing.
So we get the word out and his site grows…and now we are punished for it!?! He also NEVER encourages flash sales or the word discounts… yet now i feel if i list dolls too high in price im being punished for providing high end art on his site. what a joke!! Way to screw loyal paying members. Done!
Level the playing field?! Lol now all i see are low end dolls swarming the front pages and it made the site seem a hell of a lot less prestigious than it once was.

I agree. We’re being nickel and dimed to death from every direction, not just here. Be careful if you choose to advertise with credits. Once you choose showcase or feature you can’t undo if you pick the wrong one, so credits are deducted for both. I do feel like this is the best site for selling reborns but I would rather have had him raise the membership fee $5 and leave the rest alone.

If I am understanding it right…if I sell a doll for 899 with 49 S/H…i will owe them $61.75.
Their fees are confusing also. If you use the off site advertising and sell an item …fee will be at least 12%. I do not know if that is in addition to the 6 % or instead of??
Anyway…Dave’s is still cheaper …I am not sure about traffic on Etsy though? If you get a ton more people looking for reborns…it might be worth the higher fees.

Well when I log on I see dolls ranging from $200 up to $3200 on the front page. Looks like always has to me.
Regardless of the changes, it is still a better deal than Ebay or Etsy. So it is what it is.

Also…
I think the showcased and feature sections are changing at a more rapid rate…people are taking advantage of the credit system to showcase their babies more often instead of the old once a day rule kind of holding it down a bit.

Wishing we could boycott him for a bit to show him where his loyalties should actually be. Without us selling there, he has nothing to keep it going. He needs to see how it would be if we all just got tired of this and stopped, and maybe he’d straighten up and stop trying to be so … inconsiderate. He just keeps dropping bombs. I’ll be going back to eBay until he straightens all this out, as eBay is now not so far from these ridiculous changes but at least my listings have publicity.

Etsy’s fees are INSANE! This was my last sale on Etsy. That was about 3-4 years ago. Never again will I ever be foolish enough sell on there. 
I didn’t sign up for extra advertising. But apparently the buyer clicked the link from Google or something.

Isn’t it awful! They charge ‘fees’ for every little thing. They even charge you a fee for shipping even if you are not going to use them for shipping.

Yes at first a lot of people were complaining. Dave explained how it works and why it was needed. After a week most people were on board. I really can’t understand why people complain about him making money. I have used other platforms and his is the best. I paid way more fees on every other platform. Give him some respect. He has made a safe platform that gets hundreds of visitors a day, and all we pay is $30.

I think once people figured out how it works…it ended up not being such a big deal for most sellers.
The way he presented it was confusing…took a bit to process.

I know this post is from last year, but it is so well written and relevant for the present. I wish this could be posted every time Dave makes a change. He has built a huge platform and he gets hate every time he makes a change. From reading past posts it’s seems like once people get used to the change they like it. He is a very patient man!

I disagree. Just because we have to continue using the site does not mean we like the changes.
