It is all over facebook now. Tina Kewy is back under a new alias, Lucy Aolani. Many of us bought silicone babies from her to paint not knowing who she really was. It is quite the story. It makes me very sad because I liked Tina’s work before and I liked who I thought Lucy was. She has been called out now and made this video apology. The thing that is hard to swallow is that her entire profile on FB is a series of lies from her profile picture to stories she has told about a family death, hardships etc. I have been painting my little silicone mini boo boo baby she sent me when she could not complete my order. I found all this out the day after I worked so hard on this baby and she is still in progress. I was going to sell her but I don’t know if anyone will want her now.
It surprises me how many people are justifying what she’s done and insisting that she deserves another chance. If all those people mean it, then you should have no problem selling her.
I am sure it will. Some people would just not have a clue anyway. I didn’t until you said something. Only people that follow her really would.
She should have came back as Tina with an apology (before being caught). Set up a way to repay people and ask for a second chance to make things right.

She should have came back as Tina if she really wanted forgiven for leaving so many people out of money.
But even as Tina that wasnt her real name… did she do this before under another name? Or even after Tina but before Lucy???
I get her life was very hard, but honesty would have helped repair bridges.
For me “Lucy” was her second chance and it was lie after lie…
Then once called out she unfriended people she was in a contract with… so old habits seem to be present habits as well.
Exactly! She has lied about everything. And the apology only came after being caught. Who could believe anything that comes out of her mouth now?

I wasn’t around during the whole Kewy saga but I did read about it all and I have seen all the posts about Lucy, usually I’m one to say everyone deserves a second chance but Kewy hurt and ripped off so many people, I’m sure some of them would have forgiven her had she come back and been honest but to have a fake identity and carry on those lies is just shocking.
I think your silicone will sell, just be honest with the buyers (something she failed to do), Kewy kits still sell so I don’t see why your silicone won’t.
I was blown away. She joined the same silicone painting class as several of us here and friended me on Facebook. I ended up buying some stuff from her and it took 2 months to receive after many messages. I read all her sob stories on Facebook and genuinely felt bad for her and prayed for her. I definitely feel duped. Your life can be hard but that’s not an excuse to lie & steal from people.
ShannonN I had the exact same experience with her. I had to constantly ask about my order after it was not sent when promised. Then I was finally told it was sent but got no tracking. When I messaged to ask for tracking, she then told me my order had not been filled because she was having trouble with the molds and so she had just sent me a boo boo baby instead and that she would give me the first baby out of the mold of another sculpt she was making. At that point, I knew something was wrong because I also was aware many others were waiting on orders. So I told her I appreciated her gift but I would send it back and I wanted a refund. She said she would refund me end of week when she got paid. Amazingly, she did refund me. I tried to be kind and understanding with her and maybe that was why, I dunno. She insisted I keep this baby even though I offered twice more to return it. So even though it was a very mess of a pour, I decided to try to fix it as best I could and paint it. It is coming along much better than I thought it would but it definitely is not a smooth pour. It had lots of air bubbles, rough uneven looking places, undefined creases etc. I have trimmed out creases, filled in holes and smooth over everything I could. I am quite pleased that it is to the point someone would be able to enjoy it I think when done. It was the day after my last painting session on it that I found all this out about Lucy being Tina. I just felt so betrayed by Lucy because I had tried so much to encourage her via chat and urged her to get her issues settled with her current customers thinking she was just new to the business and had no idea. Truth is, she has no idea what she is doing in silicone enough to be selling her own pours and should never have been out selling pre-orders. I am really thinking after seeing her video that she is a pathological liar with a true mental depression disorder. I do not excuse her behavior at all but I do wonder if she is even capable of change.
What Facebook groups are talking about this? I’m always out of the loop.
Truborns, Eli Habibbi, and Ruth Annette all put up posts. Then Lucy Aolani put up a Youtube video on her fake profile page multiple times and getting multiple replies.

I’ve purchased several Kewy kits and never had any issues selling my completed babies. I had no idea there was ever a first Tina Kewy scandal. Where do you guys keep up to date? Just Facebook groups? I feel way out of the loop too!
This all happened 7-8 years ago. She had a bunch of sculpts on pre-order but never paid them off and customers left holding the bag. I think MacPherson’s wound up getting rights to some of them and that is why they have so many for sale now. Ruth Annette apparantly fronted her a lot of money on the productions end and she owes her a lot still that she never paid. It was all a big scandal at the time.
Artist who were in business for a few years know about her. He lied for a long time . Now coming back she should been appologize for the things she did before and use her own name. Changing her name and coming back that way is not ok. I loved her work and bought her kits back in 2013 maybe beginning of 2014 to . But I will be not supporting her because of coming back pretending to be someone else.

the big problem is that the suppliers who put money into her work didn’t know who she is in reality.
She could have a mental disorder, it sounds like it. Maybe Borderline Personality Disorder. It doesn’t excuse the behavior, but can explain it.
Lucy’s profile picture on facebook is not even her, the woman in the video is a totally different woman. So she asks for an apology while she is actively deceiving?
She also as Lucy made up horrible stories along the lines of a relative dying and taking in her twins.
(maybe they are not stories? I dont know but I know it wasn’t Lucy’s DIL… as Lucy is just an alias.)
Or photos of Lucy after a make over… that didnt happen.
