Reborns.com likes and traffic

I renewed my reborns.com membership yesterday, and had not been on there since all the changes with credits and promotions. I also had emails sent to let followers know I had a couple of listings up. Usually, even if it takes a long time to sell a doll, I get likes, especially on my Tinks. Now, it’s crickets. This is very unusual. Also, oddly enough it seems my views are abnormally high despite no likes. I noticed there were already views on my doll right as I listed her which is impossible. I believe I have one like on my listing and received a strange message from what I assume is a scammer (first day ever on reborns and already blocked by other artists). Is there anyone else on here having similar issues? I’m probably going to have to go back to evilBay again, but they are swamped with fakes. It’s hard to be seen on there.

I haven’t had any problems with reborns.com.

Thats very interesting! I had a lady msg me wanting a doll on layaway as soon as i listed. She disappeared when i came time to pay. She had also been blocked by alot of sellers. I do believe the number are skewed on there. I have invested 2 months and no sales. I think its the tume of year where you may nor get as many sales . I have listed 2 of mine on ebay im basically giving them away :sob::sob:

Your Jo has 5 likes. Your Tinks are under Custom. There is no longer an easy button to find customs. I don’t even know where to find them. I don’t think too many people are seeing customs unless they go to your nursery and see them there.

One of those I believe is a follower, so emails definitely went out. It always gets slow around this time of year, so there’s that. A section for customs would be awesome. I think it’s like you said, most people really only see customs if they go directly to the nursery.

It’s like they’re sitting there waiting for newly listed dolls. Odd. The lady that contacted me had 0 days on reborns and had been blocked by someone already. The doll had just been listed and she contacted me asking if it was still available. It could be nothing, but something just didn’t seem right. I’ve been selling reborns for 15 years, and I can’t remember a summer when sales didn’t slow down. It always seems to pick up in September. I’ll still get views/watchers, just fewer buyers. Over the last few years, I’ve jad to lower my prices, too. :disappointed:

Can’t you list a custom in the regular listings as a custom? Say, for example, Sandie custom.

When you do your listing and clicking on your nursery/ listing it counts as a view even before posting.

No, because he makes you click ‘completed and ready to be shipped’ or ‘custom, needs to be completed’.

I don’t know the answer either but it is not in your head. When I would post a doll under the old system I would get at least 20 or more likes in the first few days, now it is taking weeks to get half that amount. I won’t do eBay, that ship has sailed but I am thinking when my membership runs out in a few months on Reborns dot com I may give Only Reborns a go.

I’ve noticed the same issues. After all these changes he’d made, with all the new fee’s it’s just really hard to use the site. I believe that the items we list aren’t getting the same exposure, it’s just not the same. I may also give only Reborns a try.

Can’t you do both? Put ‘custom’ with the name of the doll and also click custom, needs to be completed?

Yeah, it just seems different. I’m still trying to get used to the new promotions and learning when to use the credits to promote my stuff. I only have one doll on there now and a custom Tink. The finished one is a Johannah Realborn, so it may just not be as sought after like the limited edition type reborns. I’m finishing up a cuddle baby and a Joseph Realborn (3 month old asleep) so will see how those do on there. Currently, the Johannah has 5 likes. Normally, there would be more even this time of year.

I do both and it seems like my custom doesn’t get seen now since the changes.

I have thought about doing the same if the next few dolls I list don’t do well either.

Have you used credits to feature and showcase? It definitely increases exposure. They rotate in those categories until they sell or are removed. I don’t pay much attention to likes. It doesn’t mean your dolls aren’t being seen. My Jordan (Leviathin) has been sitting for 3 months. I think it’s just not a very popular kit but I have faith somebody will love and adopt him. Try rearranging your pictures. For example, crop the last one so her face will be in the center and use it as your lead photo. It catches attention better, imo.

@jeanhai the listings don’t rotate anymore. When you list or feature, yours keeps getting pushed farther down buy every new listing or feature. It will not rotate back to the top, you would have to use credits to feature it again to bring it back around.

I’m noticing that I get more likes the times I don’t feature at all. :woman_shrugging: not sure why that’s the trend for me be so far that’s how it’s been.

They do rotate. Mine are in a different position all the time. I look every day to see where they’re at. Once you feature them, they don’t stay in the streaming Featured section at the very top but they do stay and rotate in the View All Featured section. Same thing when you Showcase. They just don’t stay on the front page.

So by rotate, are you meaning they move along because other people are posting things, which moves the position? They don’t rotate and bounce back around unless you’re featuring them again.
