REBORN DOLLS - BEWARE - Scammer site stealing photos, CALL TO ACTION, new sites are opening and using different artist photos

Oh, I didn’t spot that she’s awake! Thanks!
So they just edited the eyes. Ugh. If they can sculpt eyes, the can sculpt a whole doll. They should just come up with their own stuff.

I saw one that the artist said she had opened the eyes but they were slightly more peeky.

I remember seeing that April listed on eBay, but I thought it was the same artist that altered Huxley’s eyes, so I just figured she had opened them herself. I did not actually read the listing. I am kind of shocked.

No “artist” who would knowingly reborn an illegal sculpt is a legitimate artist imo. And since this is an awake version of April and there is no awake version as Jlesser pointed out, this “artist” knew what she was doing imo. If it walks like a duck, etc.

Edited to add that we, as artists have to stick together and do the honest thing. We can’t make excuses or else we are no better than the thieves who copy these kits and take the livelihoods away from sculptors and ourselves. I mean why would we logically think this is ok!

She may think she’s above the rest of us. She has already been treated as such. She keeps winning prototype contests with her altered kits. That alone should have gotten her black listed from prototypes. But instead, she gets rewarded for altering them. So she probably thinks she’s above reproach. And personally I think the fact that she thinks it’s fine to alter the prototype kits, leading to false advertising shows she doesn’t really care about integrity.

Wonder how she would feel though, if someone were claiming HER work as theirs. Relentlessly.

Blaming it on her daughter or student is also low.
It looks like her style.
If my daughter bought a fake kit and I found out I would warn her to throw it out. Same if I had a student I was teaching reborning to.

Also is that the entry that “won” the contest??? How is it then “not painted by her”???

You cant enter someone else’s work into a contest as your own…

She wins prototypes by altering kits? What? That makes no sense. Are the sculptors aware that she alters them?

Is this also her F B account? Says she lives in a city in China.

I don’t know exactly how to screenshot with the device I am on, but that is not the profile that I see her work under.

I believe this one lives in Russia?
I saw some of the comments, and as a prototype artist she should KNOW this is fake.
Student or daughter painted it…in the exact same painting style, rooting style and photo props/look.
Apparently she apologized to Joanna Kazmierczak in private 🤷 but I didnt see a confirm or deny that she admitted she painted it 🤦

Interesting how she threw her daughter under a bus.

Whether her daughter of student painted it, she is still responsible to prevent that from happening, and she should know better than to sell it. Just wow.

Sorry. I’m just now seeing this comment. Evidently Andrea Arcello doesn’t realize she alters them. This Huxley thread shows our discussion about the matter.

If you look at her dolls compared to the original kit, a large majority have larger, rounder eyes. I can’t tell for sure on all of her prototypes. Sometimes she may just use larger eyes. And sometimes it may just be how she paints the lower eyelid and adds lashes. But other times it’s obvious. Look at her Huxley. She shaved off the puffy area on the upper, inner eyelids. (This wasn’t a prototype. But it was the doll she submitted to win the contest.) Her Meadow is iffy. The eyes look different on here compared to the other prototypes. But her prototype Reggie doesn’t look altered. Irresistibles uses her pics for other kits that she didn’t really prototype. But still…they are using them to advertise the kit. If you look closely at them, hers usually look doe eyed, no matter the kit. It’s more obvious when you see her work next to the prototypes.

Bumping this back to the top and adding that some profiles on FB are having the negative reviews we leave on the scam pages - posted to our timelines… (it doesnt do it to everyone or every review left)

Here is a screenshot of my personal profile( wall?) before I deleted them all the way back to May 2020… that is when I gave up.

I think this has hindered sales more than likely. My account is set to private so anyone who is not my friend would see only public posts/shares… most of those being my reviews on scammers…

I have seen it the same way on 5 other artist pages that I have looked at this week. The posts mix in with all the stuff you share/post. You have to go to your actual profile to see them. (if they are there)

Been a while since there was a post here. I have a LinkedIn account and I received this the other day. Beware:

The words “rebirth doll” make me cringe every time I see them.

They have also really started up with vintage dolls too. Last week someone popped up in a vintage doll group showing my pictures of a doll that I sold on eBay quite sometime ago. I started wondering if the pictures were out there somewhere. Sure enough- there are several sites from China modeled the same as for reborns that have taken photos that people have saved on Pinterest of high end vintage and antique dolls and put them up for sale. They have my doll that I sold on eBay for 850.00 for 31.99-47.99. They claim to have 100’s of dolls that turn up on ebay maybe once every other month. All the pictures are stolen and when questioned they claimed to have replicas. I can’t imagine what someone will get if they send these people money. Here is one of the sites- the doll with the toy giraffe was mine. There is nothing I can do about it :frowning:
