Paint Swap!

I got my package today. I’m super happy that the items were marked as replacements and I didn’t have any customs fees or taxes to pay at all, woo hoo. I might start a cuddle head soon so I can try the colours and mediums out all at once.

I missed this and hope they will do it again so I can swap my Genesis matte varnish with Gemini’s. Also, just figured out the name Gemini for paints: twin. They have worked hard on these paints to make them like a twin of Genesis because it was such a beloved reborn paint. Glad to hear that Gemini is working out really good for artists who have tried it. That’s great news.

This line is the closest thing to Genesis I have found. I am happy with everything so far except for how warm the red is. I have to add blue to it as it can easily go orange when layered with yellows. I was told by one of the seller’s of another new line of paints that the new way of painting is the wave of the future. Well I do not care for all the “new” ways of painting. I am so much happier with these. I also have been incorporating the BC Heatset paints into my Genesis paints along with this line and using the Gemini mediums and either the Gemini thinning or my Xodus thinning oil. It all is working together well for me and I am very happy.

What “new way” are they referring to? I guess I’m out of the loop on all the paints out there. I like the heat set the best even though I began doing this art with air dry. So, what you said about Gemini paints being the closest you’ve tried so far sounds hopeful. I think I will give them a try, even though I still have probably a lifetime supply of Genesis left.

I know this topic is a lot older, but with the paint swap that is going on right now I am curious about the labels. I have Genesis paints, where of course the label slid off due to it being oily after trying to keep that label on I just eventually gave up and wrote the name on the lid. Is that good enough or does it actually have to be the label?

If you were in the first 100 to respond to the email, you can send paints (labeled or not) for exchange.

If you got the email stating you are in the first 100 it does state:

Please note:

  • Limited to 20 jars or 20 ounces, whichever comes first.
  • Jars must have their original heat-set labels.

So it did happened on St Patrick day 2026? I never saw email beside the one that BB was planning to do it again.

Not sure.. I didn’t follow it since I don’t plan to trade any of my Genesis.

I got an email from BB that they would be holding the paint swap again and if you wanted to participate to respond back. If you responded back to the email that you wanted to participate, and you were one of the first 100 replies they sent you back an email. In the email instructions it says that the jars must have their original labels.
