Nursing home deliveries today ❤️

Finally got a chance to take babies to our local nursing home this afternoon. The first baby I made for a sweet lady that use to attend my church. Another church member told me that her dementia had gotten worse -so to calm her she held a baby most of the time -! I left her with two babies in her lap waiting on her supper try

The second baby -I took to the Alzheimer’s unit - The nurse took it to a lady in her 80s who lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw it - she loved on him and talked to him - it was so sweet :heart:The nurse told me the patient had been asking for her mama and baby all day - so it was the perfect day to bring it - I left with happy tears and loving reborning even more !! ( I didn’t take a pic because I didn’t know her )
Y’all if you have a boo boo baby or one that just won’t sale - think about donating to a local unit - the nurse said the patients enjoy things like that so much - I told her I d be back :heart:! God bless y’all !

That’s amazing! I’ve been to a local nursing home to ask about it, but they still haven’t gotten back to me.

Haha, I’ve been thinking of bringing some of mine along for an hour or two, then take them back home. I’m not sure if they got what I meant, though. Maybe I should just show up with a doll as well. XD

Yeah, I thought that or a few at once, so multiple people can hold one.

What a beautiful day for you and them, more happiness in giving :heart:️. I would definitely recommend letting staff know you will be coming back soon. On my crochet sites there were terrible stories of Nicu donations ( hats mitts etc) being taken home and even sold by the staff. So it would be good to keep them on their toes. Do not mean to be a negative Nancy… Cautious as a serpent yet innocent as a dove

When hubby and I drove up to sc last month I brought a boo boo baby. My niece brought it to their local Alzheimer’s care unit and they love her. I can’t wait to do this again. Maybe see locally here in Florida too! You did a wonderful thing. Makes me super excited to do it again. I have a heart for the elderly. I’m making a couple of cuddle babies and thought maybe they might be good?

I wish it were possible to love this post more than once! I kept hearing ”well, bless her little heart” in a voice that sounds a lot like my Grandma’s. Not sure if it’s meant for you, the patient, or the doll! Lol

Bless you for doing this. I too have donated some recently, it is a good feeling to help others. I also donate to kids in trama and these dolls mean the world to some of these kidos. If you can t afford to donate dolls, I also pick up cheap plushies, wash them and give them to my school counselor at my school to kids who may need a hug. Just an idea.
