Netflix reborn documentary

Does anyone know about a documentary that Netflix is doing on reborn dolls? This artist says she is being interviewed by Netflix on how to make and sculpt dolls. Any other artists being interviewed? Here are some screen shots of the artist who says she is being interviewed and a few pics of her work. Rossana from Rosannas fairytale reborns nursery.

Oh my is all I can say!

With all the talented reborn artists out there this is the only one they talk to?

Yes, no offence to this lady but I thought the same thing…

Seems like another documentary that’s gonna end up making people think we’re all nutters.

It is obvious by looking at the doll chosen to be in the documentary it will not shine a positive light on the reborn industry as an art form. It will be another negative image of the industry and definitely will not promote this artist.

I hope this was supposed to be an attempt at clever marketing- like hey, men can be included in this hobby, nothing more. :expressionless_face:

So I asked in a reborn group on FB and some people say there is a trend going around on SM and ppl pretend to be starring in a Netflix film. I asked the lady what the name of it was and she said “fairytale dreams and dolls” so I don’t know what to think but what a strange thing for a so called professional artist to post and then lie to someone when they ask about it.

That used to be a strange trend in pics years ago that I always hated!

I agree with others that she was trying to do the “preparing for my Netflix documentary” trend online, but I don’t think she really understood how it’s supposed to go.

Her lying to you about a fake show title is very strange…

She used to be on here.
She does not take critiques well…

She just had some kind of surgery, I think she may be in a wheelchair currently?
Just went to Dolls of the World expo, and trying to get on the vendor list.

I dont follow her so I just see bits and pieces in comments

I don’t like that she’s using other people’s prototype photos for advertising. She admits it on her website.

I know her from Youtube and FB but she posts links to her insta and tik tok so I know she is there too. I don’t know if I would call her a scammer but she does do sketchy stuff. She has several different FB accounts for her nursery. She came on the doll scene around 2014 on Youtube doing tutorials pretty much right out the gate but says on her FB page she has been a reborn artist since '02. She went to a doll show years ago wearing a vendor type shirt w/ her nursery name on it, took pics with all the top artists there and then posts the pics on her social media giving the impression she was a vendor there. I think they then changed the rules that you couldn’t wear apparel like that unless you are a vender? She posted a link to an article she got a local paper to do on her a few years back. In it she again gives an impression that she is a popular artist, in demand and has sold at doll shows. And like Jean says, she uses prototype pics to sell her work. There was a post she made years ago I remember where she was upset a buyer was returning her April sculpt because it did not look like the prototype. I never cared for her just because from what I have seen she markets to developmentally delayed adults and charges top dollar for her work while using used, pilled clothing and used pacifiers. You could see scuff marks and teeth imprints from real babies having used them and stains on some of the sleepers. She has Yuna listed for $1599.00 for her FB but has had it on sale for $999.00. Anyway I should have known that this was one of her tricks but there has been so much bad press and docs like this in the reborn world out to make us look crazy I thought this was legit and panicked lol! She should have put a disclaimer on the Netflix vid since she is an artist! Terrible of her to do imo.

Here is a link to that article for those interested. And also her FB account.

I agree 100%. Its like they purposely do this to make the Reborn Community look crazy.

Makes her look like a scammer. I wouldn’t trust to buy a doll from someone like that even if it was well done.

I think you can say you were “interviewed” and get away with it (maybe that is why it became a thing to do on social media) If Netflix ever came after you or someone challenged you, you can always say, “I wasn’t chosen, just interviewed” or “I guess they didn’t follow through with the project” or “I was joking” or “ Someone could have called and pranked me”. Trust me there are too many social media “influencers”, and You Tube Reborn Attention getters a PA would contact before they did a stab in the dark cold call to someone random.

Hope I am right.

If they ever do one I hope it isn’t embarrassing and meant to make this look strange, fetish, crazy.

It is a weird art form to most people though but wouldn’t it be awesome if they did a very positive spin and people went on a hunt for artist made babies.
