And pepperoni rolls. @Shara! Can’t forget pepperoni rolls
Oh yes! I eat those darn near every day
Ok, but hear me out… saltines dipped in ranch. Best snack to paint with! Just don’t get absent minded and dip your cracker in your paint…
Well call me contrary. But saltine crackers are best when turned into spicy fire crackers.
I really think they’re best turned into Christmas crack. Particularly at this time of year.
Yes!!! I’ve had that with pretzels instead of saltines, I should have realized I could switch it out!!! Looks like I got a new snack to make!
Oh yum. Pretzels sounds great too. I’m going to have to try that next time.
Well you’re not wrong. But neither am I. Both versions of saltines in disguise are equally awesome.
I may be an absolute heathen for thinking so, but I find saltines perfectly palatable on their own. They’re quite possibly the perfect cracker. So versatile too!!!
Oh they are good on their own too! But if I can dip something in ranch, I’m going to! Lol, I have a jar of ranch pickles in my fridge. I did have three, but well, there’s one now. I’ll need to make more. Also, kid me hated oyster crackers for some reason, but loved saltines. sometimes I wanna shake some sense into kid me. I must have infuriated my poor dad.
I’ve only ever eaten saltine crackers with peanut butter!
I haven’t had saltines with peanut butter in a long while. Now I really want some. lol
We always ate saltines with butter as a snack
I would have never thought to try them with butter. They’re probably pretty tasty that way though.
I still love saltines with butter. Yum.
Alright I’m about to claim NONE OF YALL
Saltines are called soda crackers here. And if you want to get weird my mother-in-law used to make soda crackers with cheddar cheese and a marshmallow melted in the oven for my husband as a snack.
Peanut butter and banana on top
Lord yall have done some verbalizing since I last logged in here! LMBO!
I do want to make a couple observations:
First, I do not think a customer is being “nosy” if they open up a doll and want to see what is inside or re-weight the doll. That is their right and has been going on since forever. I have purchased a few dolls by artists over my time and because I most often have my own weighting preference, I will open the doll and reweight it. Believe me, I have seen some shockers inside, particularly by one artist who has been a big name and done many prototypes. Her doll had a hard lump in the middle that I could feel through the body. Inside I found a zip lock baggie with some type of black media that I still am not sure what it was. It was then wound round with masking tape until completely bound up like a hard rock. Thus, the reason the baby felt like it had a rock in its middle. It was odd to me to do it this way…
Next I would like to point out that while many of us may resent what others refer to as industry standards, we have to accept that this industry does have a life of its own and things will get labeled as being up to or not up to standards. Like I said before, I thought baked play sand was just fine but I had to give that up and go to something more expensive if I wanted to ship outside the USA. Now days I no longer ship out of the USA unless it is Canada so for the most part I “could” use clean sand but you can bet if I did some time along the way I would be called out for using sub standard materials. Therefore, I do not use sand and have not for over 10 years. That is an “industry standard” whether you like that term or not. It is what it is. If one want to do something that overall is not considered an industry standard, then by all means go ahead but don’t be crying and upset if you ever get called out for it and shamed on social media. Social media is beyond cruel.
It would seem that the definition of glass beads varies quite a bit from person to person and maybe even between companies. Glass grit that is large and does not contain sharp edges that would cut your fingers or vinyl is likely safe to use. I assume that is what Bean is selling. Regardless, of whether she thinks it is fine to use or not her standing as an artist is not one bit persuasive to me as to whether or not it is up to my standards. I would have to see it in person for myself to decide. Crushed glass like I got in my order by mistake was not safe to use. It was literally crushed down to slivers some of which were paper thin. If one accidentally inhaled it that would lead to major lung damage. So once again, not all crushed glass is the same.
In the end, I think the moral to all this conversation is that it is probably a good idea to post photos of the weighting materials you use on your listings or at least on our web sites. I used to do this years ago and when I moved to a new website host I did not do that. I will be adding that soon.
