Maybe I don’t notice any of this because I use air dry paint. They are always a bit shiny because of the paint I use. This goes away when I matt them down. Paint not sticking or holes I haven’t noticed either… the only thing that has come up is that a few kits have been really oily with a weird smell. 3 month Joseph was one of them. I scrubbed, scrubbed, scrubbed and couldn’t get rid of the oil or the stench. Finally filled up my sink full of hot soapy water and left him to soak overnight. Despite all of this, the kit had to air out for days to get rid of the smell. It made my whole doll room smell like chemicals.

Not a dud. I’ve done 3 Ashley awake. All 3 the paint wouldn’t stick to her ears without 3 layers of varnish. And she goes shiny after matte.
I use genesis and it happens.
Meh.

Do you add a little ultra matte gel to your paints? It really reduces the amount of shine.
Sometimes. Most times I’m too lazy.
