Help! Is this fixable?

I use the stain for the lips and nails, because I don’t like them too shiny, the gloss I use for the eyes.

I think most of us use Gloss for the eyes.

Yes,like Pia, I use Gloss for the eyes.

Those are the parts I dislike the most too! I’ve never had a problem with the glaze though - except for one time when it wouldn’t dry clear and stayed cloudy. I had had it for a long time and ordered some new glaze and that took care of the problem. Are you gals sealing the eyes with glaze? I’ve never done that but just put the glaze on after gluing the eyelashes and letting them dry. Sometimes I use a brush to apply to the eye and sometimes I just put a couple of drops on and let it spread to the corners. When it dries it has always looked OK.

I used ceramacoat on my practice doll. I mixed it with a little water so I could drop it in the center and spread lightly. It looked good until it dried. It had many miniscule bubbles in the entire layer. I’m thinking it’s because I stirred it too much with the water . Good thing it’s my practice head. I was able to take the eye out and peel off that layer. I ll try again later.

Did you look at the tutorial by Debbie Henshaw? I don’t add water to the varnish. You use a wet brush to pick it up out of the dish. Don’t shake the bottle or mix the paint. I always gently turn it upside down and back a couple of times and then I am good to go.

Stirring causes bubbles, Michele, so using a wet brush like Pia said will help you avoid them.

@Pia Yes I did l look at the tutorial, but like I said, mine was pretty thick and didn’t not flow like hers. Thats why I added the water. I was just experimenting. I will try the hot water with the brush next time and hope it flows better. Will keep practicing before I put it on a good doll.
