Thank you!
Love that! But I need to know exactly what I need
I have some crappy (not nice) limbs I could try… they are blank but I could see if it sticks and dries properly to vinyl.
It would all need to be added after baking is complete. Probably last step before stuffing and weighting.
We’ll wait on your results. Will you mix paint before applying or after?
I am not going to reborn the limb first. I dont like to bake vinyl when my kids are home.
When I put the spakle or caulk on I will mix it in a disposable cup first with a plastic knife or frosting knife for my crafts, then use the knife to place it on the limb. Just like frosting a cake. You can even use frosting bags and tips for the spakle once it is mixed with paint.
It does start drying after a bit so I make smaller batches .
Personally I like the feel and look of the caulk (cake pop rattles) more than the spakle but the spakle gives more of a texture.
Oh this will be interesting! I would love to attempt making one for a fun challenge on here😊
Cool!!! Good luck!! You can use your experiments as part of home school!!! I can’t wIt to do this challenge!!!
What sculpt is everyone thinking they will use???
I don’t know about exact sculpt, but I am definitely will use open eyed kit. Seeing sleeping babies with cake icing all over seems a little silly to me.
I agree, open eyed kit but I have no clue which one …probably NEED to buy a new one for this challenge
Hahahaha I love you @YelenaRey
Me to!!! @jlesser which sculpt it that bean used ? I love the crying idea!
So my experiment didn’t go as planned… my spakle was dried out so I added some water and brown paint and mixed it up and put it on a foot… it looks nasty and gross… lol (remember it is still wet at the time of pictures)
Then I mixed silicone caulk and teal paint and put it on the other foot. Patted it on in areas (toes and foot), smeared on like frosting a cake (side leg), plopped on (knee) then dropped on some CLAY sprinkles, and then experimented with drizzling elmers glue with black and burnt umber paint mixed in… I tried to drizzle it with a tooth pick… it wouldnt drizzle, I added a little water and it still wouldn’t. So I touched the “drip” to the caulk and pulled it back it kinda worked… (thigh)
Then I poured the glue mixture onto the other foot to see what it did… it ran after I walked away.
Now it is drying. Tomorrow I will try to make it fall off, ect…
I like the silicone so much better anyways and it is easy. Hardest part is squeezing it out… LOL

And a picture of the caulk (from last year) and I just mix in acrylic paints from Walmart (apple barrel)
I love the blue with the sprinkles! It looks like that may be a good way to do it! It looks like hot fudge or chocolate on the blue with the brown so I like that also
Thank you, Jenni, for all your experiments!
On the first picture looks like baby accidentally got into his poop
The blue - looks perfect!
I love how the silicone looks!! Maybe drizzles could be done with liquid resin or liquid silicone?
I could also see the drizzles being done with straight up acrylic paints as it can dry thick and drippy
@jlesser the top pic looks like the baby walked though by backyard. poopfoot!
I love that you are figuring this out!!! I’m excited to try it!!!
Hahaha and why that was a one time try and then discarded My teen tried to tell me to go get new spackle at the store… I figured spackle is not a necessity…
Plus I like the silicone better anyways
Maybe I will add some acrylic to my art resin and see how that goes
Need to mix up some resin for a present and my daughters project soon anyways.
Yay!!!
