Hi Derrick! Welcome to the forum!
Derrick… your story made my heart happy… what a wonderful gift for your mother. I hope you will post pictures when you have finished the baby… (or now)…

Hey! My name is Derrick and I’m 27 years old. I have one brother and one sister, both older. My mom and dad watch my brother’s and sister’s kids all the time. When my mom got sick, she said she misses how little the kids were and misses holding them. I had heard of reborns before, from the special “my Fake Baby,” and started doing some research. When I realized it was a craft, not a store product, I figured this was my chance to fill my mom’s arms with a little bundle of joy. I haven’t rooted her yet by my mother actually cried when I let her see it. She can’t wait for mother’s day when she will actually get to keep her new little baby girl! Thanks for all advice in helping me make this the perfect mother’s day gift!

Welcome to the forum and the art of reborning!! We all hope you’ll enjoy it and continue after you fulfill your mother’s wish. Please don’t take offense when, as most of us do, refer to “all you ladies” “gals” “girls” etc. We don’t mean to leave you out, it just that we don’t get many male posters.
It’s great to have you here and I hope that you feel welcome and have lots to talk about like all of us!!

Your Mom is going to be so delighted… Hard to believe this is your first effort. I have only rooted one baby myself so I am not reallu qualified to give you tips. I would put her hair in “dog ears” with bows and see what you think!

Welcome to all the new people. How exciting! There are many things to learn here and we are always looking for new tips and tricks. Please feel free to share your babies in the WIP thread, which is to show your work in progress. There you can ask for feedback or just plain brag about your baby. Your finished babies can be displayed in Reborn Showcase. The tutorials are endless. If you are having trouble finding something, just ask. It won’t be long before someone will come along and help you out.
