Wanted to update on this little cutie bum, he isn’t even weaned yet! He wasn’t eating at all so on a hunch I offered him a bottle of formula and he took it instantly then passed out happy and full. Large chain pet stores are the worst for animal care, this poor baby should still be with his mama rat. (Editing to add no shame to anyone who gets pets from large chain stores in many places it’s the only option and that’s okay! It’s the stores themselves and their suppliers that are the issue)

Sorry to hear about your dog. It’s normal to question yourself but with animals, their symptoms are so hard to read. To do our best is probably the most we can really do. As the owner of now Sharpei #3 I can honestly say no one could take better care of my dogs than me. I blame it on breeding. My first had thyroid/cushionings, the second had cancer. We were diligent with their healthcare. Both were taken to vet immediately when symptoms showed and
both died soon after. Sharpei are notorious with health issues & I know that but I will never have another breed. They are different. Now with #3, I’m on the lookout for anything. So far thousands in eye surgery, allergies, ears, & anxiety are the only issues-yes only so far. Recently found out his “breeder” was actually running a puppy mill. Fortunately she was busted & closed down. Are all these issues my fault-nope, not at all. I remind Zeus how lucky he is to have me, but being a sharpei, i don’t think he really cares.

Also editing to add the bands aren’t tight at all, and he doesn’t fuss with them. They’re only looped around 3 times so they’re not tight. If you’re gonna put your dogs hair up definitely don’t loop more than 3 times and make sure none of the ear hair is included or it’ll pull and be painful. His hair is really only up cause otherwise it’s in his eyes but as a show dog he needs to grow it out, I can’t cut it.

Here she is mind controlling me to take her out for a walk. My back hurt and I had someone else take her for a walk, but that wasn’t good enough. We can’t deviate from the routine lol

I wanted to get some baby painting and watercolor done today but the pup has a yucky tummy and is extra clingy. I just gathered all of my in- one- spot projects so we can just sit together.
