So I worked all day yesterday and part of the night to finish up a custom, just to have the customer not be happy with it. Even though I donāt blame her, Iām sure I misunderstood, Iām done with customs (after I finish the orders I have) (she wants me to lighten up the creases on the face, which is proving harder than I imagined.) I canāt wait to NOT do customs, it is very stressful. !Oh, and that hair, I know itās not perfect, but it took me forever
Note: the arms and hands actually match the face, my phone camera is broken and part of my pics are hazy due to that.
That is why I donāt want to do custom. I did 1 and did not enjoy it one bit as it was to stressful. I just want to paint for the fun of it and have the baby turn out however it leads me.
I think your baby turned out adorable. I really like her. You did a good job!
Awe! I can see how hard you worked on her! I think sheās gorgeous. I donāt take customs. I know it would make me crazy lol.
Iām so sorry she doesnāt like it. She is beautiful and some other mommy is out there for her.
I did custom order ones, and even that it went so perfect I stress myself so much over it that I said āNo moreā.
Now I have people who are just waiting for me to complete the certain kits and I donāt like even that. I need to have a freedom without commitments and paint whom I want, how I want, and when I want.
I love the way she looks. You put a lot of effort into her. I can definitely see how custom orders are stressful. I paint for the fun and enjoyment and my babies are far from perfect. I just like to paint. I keep practicing,
Thanks everyone, I just needed a little encouragement Iām trying to āfixā it for her, but if she still isnāt happy, Iāll offer a refund and sell it to someone else I guess
Sheās a beautiful baby!
Customs can really suck the life out of you sometimes. Trust me, I get it.
That customer would be getting a refund along with my best wishes on finding a baby that she would be happy with. From my experience, even if everything she wanted was fixed, she wouldnāt be happy anyway, so no, nope, and no thanks. Fast forward through the stress and drama and go straight to refund⦠but that is just me. What I would do. I have a stressful life and refuse to add to it with stuff like this.
Your baby is beautiful and the right mommy will love her!
She is lovely and Iām sorry your customer isnāt happy. As others have said, I would explain that the changes she is requesting are not something you can or are willing to do and offer a Rey. Someone will love her and be happy to have her.
Any suggestions on lightening the creases? Nothing seems to be working
IMO I would not risk messing her up for someone that may or may not be happy! Start over with another or just cancel the order!!
Donāt ruin her by trying to keep doing things that arenāt working. Iād do what others have said, refund the customer and sell her to someone else who appreciates her as she is!
No customs here, too stressful, and I like to let the baby develop as I go without someone else telling me what to do where! Just me, but it lets me do my thing with the freedom to let it be fun!
The only thing I can think of for lightening creases is using lighter flesh-toned powders over the creased areas. Just a word of cautionā¦powders can be pretty tricky to use.
Iāve been asked to make customs and Iāve said NO Everytime. Iām a cake artist so I deal with enough stress, my painting is MY way. After a year of reborning Iāve learned that I have a particular style and look that Iām comfortable with. I canāt even imagine painting a doll in someone elseās vision, all the desaster stories I hear are mostly customes. Itās just not for me lol
Iāve decided to just put her up for sale⦠Customer wants me to start new with another kit, Iām just so over customs though
Are you going to do that for her?
Havenāt decided I hate to disappoint anyone, thatās my biggest downfall I think.
I think sheās adorable as is!
