I was looking for her and even her art dolls page is gone too?
Maybe she is taking some time off. She has been posting about ways to prevent sculpts from being stolen a lot lately. I just saw a post by her a couple days ago.
I was following a post she had made about not taking pictures of the COA and was wondering what she suggested. Maybe covering up the bar code if someone wants a picture ?
That was the last one I saw too. She was saying not to show that when showing the photos because it can be copied and stolen. She said people are giving out too much information in their photos. It is frustrating because with all this stolen copies of the COA now buyers are now wanting to see more close up of the COA so it is hard to deal with.
In the post, she called out the artist for posting the COA and not putting the sticker in the doll’s head. She was pretty harsh. To me, it looked like an honest mistake on the artist’s part. Natalie could have handled it without mentioning the artist’s nursery name. But instead, she decided to make a shame post. Then Stephanie O started chiming in on the comments, in support of Natalie. Steph said she will be mentioning that artist in her next video. Natalie seemed to be encouraging that. Then it was mentioned that Natalie had sent an Everleigh Gwen kit to Steph to review. So in the comments people were reprimanding Natalie for associating with Stephanie. I was told by someone who was Natalie’s friend, that Natalie has the same mind set as Steph, blaming sculptors when their kits get stolen.
I thought we were supposed to take a picture with the sticker inside the head showing that it matches the certificate. I didn’t do it because mine got purchased right away by a repeat customer but I saw she was berating someone else for showing a picture of the certificate.
I have to be honest now and say what I skimmed of the post I thought sounded harsh as well. I too noticed that Stephanie O. was commenting in support and that was when I clicked on and quit reading. I have no use for that woman. But my initial impression of the whole thing was that the artist was just trying to show that the kit was authentic. I don’t think she meant any harm at all and I could have seen myself doing the same thing in an effort to be disclosing all information about what I am selling. I didn’t realize that Natalie was shaming the person who did it. That is awful! It is da**** if you do and da**** if you don’t in this business these days! I am double glad I didn’t buy her kit now!
Hopefully she is okay. The last post I saw was about bullying and how it needs to stop. She knows of 5 artists that have unalived themselves due to bullying in the reborn community.
I have seen posts and comments from people on both sides. I wish people could be professional and share knowledge without bringing others down.
The artist in question for the kit issues was contacted by Natalie. She informed her how it should work. There was a post by the artist (I didn’t see it). She deleted Natalie’s comments and blocked her. Then Natalie made her post about it.
As for Stephanie and Jackie I agree they have no place in the argument. You cant only support some sculptor’s and not all. Especially when the copyright is automatic in the USA (from what I have read in posts).
Why I always miss on all juicy news?
Stephanie chiming in on the shame train made me want to vomit! She has a lot of nerve to talk about ethics to anyone!
I am still waiting for someone to show me in the instructions that showing the bar code will render our kit unauthentic. My instructions on how to use the new 3S system COA do not include that information.
And I also do not understand how and why the kits would be sent to a person who supports fakes when in her video Natalie says she won’t even allow kit dealers who have had any questionable ethics will not be allowed access to her kits. Does she not see that the famous you tube lady supports fakes and has very questionable ethics?
Well, I guess part of my confusion about Natalie’s outburst about all this is because I did not understand how it all is supposed to work. A friend of mine who got one of the kits explained it to me as this:
“You get registration paper work now that only you and the artist know those special numbers. Natalie’s Everleigh has a special code you write down and put inside the head. All of it is explained in the paper work so you can always prove you have a legal kit. Truborns and Cassie Love besides Natatie are for sure doing this being the theft is so seriously bad. It literally comes with special cards you use when you sell the finished doll or even the kit.”
My friend went on to tell me: “The gal that posted all the paper work would of known she wasn’t supposed to do what she did because it explains not to post pictures of your registered numbers.”
So that is another person’s perspective on it all…
I wonder if they supported each other through the unethical issues with the dealer, so there is a “trauma bond”?
That is my point though. How are we supposed to know not to post the numbers? It was not in the instructions included with the kit. In the video Natalie says to position the head so you can see the sticker corresponding to the COA and take a picture. She does not specify that this should not be shown online. I thought it was something we were supposed to do to post and prove we had all the corresponding parts to the new system. I came very close to posting mine online as well. It was never said not to
I think there must be a lot of confusion about all this and thus the reason it has happened.
Edited to say my friends tells me that Natalie sent out a long email ahead of time explaining it all if you ordered an Everleigh kit.
Other artists are going to be doing this too? I am clueless what to do or not to do if I get a kit with this in it.
I was following the post too . And was surprised to see she was associate with S. Ort .
I am worried about her, but also think she should have talked about the situation another way . After encouraging S. Ort to make a video bashing the artist for a mistake . I personally think it was too much …
Now I am worried about her … she left Facebook talking about bullying . I think both should have apologize. The artist did . The buyer was complaining that Nathalie was suppose to message her back and never did …
I usually avoid Stephanie’s videos. But I decided to go see what she had to say about Storkbite’s. WOW!!! Absolute 100% bullying! And it was done with the approval of Natalie. As far as Natalie’s post about bullying….she bullied. Now she’s standing behind the biggest bully in the reborn world. I don’t know if Natalie is okay right now. But she is NOT a victim! And Stephanie is disgusting!
I tried to watch the videos about the COAs but it was crazy long.
It all seems confusing and hard. How about take sticker A and put inside the head then cover the COA number if you have to take a picture of it.
Why shame people?!
The reborns community is imploding
So much bullying and shaming
Wanting to protect sculptors at all costs I understand but its also turning legitimate doll lovers away from reborns and such a harsh community of shaming and blaming. Worrying if someones gramma purchased a doll at walmart and now they need to go hide their heads in shame.
We are our own cancer
I didn’t get an email saying that and it doesn’t say it on the instructions. The artist posted a screen shot of other artists who had also shown their COA’s, unfortunately I was one of them. I showed it in my kit box opening video, but didn’t show the instructions or explanation of how to use the system. The numbers aren’t clear in my video but now I’m wary of even painting the kit, I cannot even imagine the poor customer who buys an authentic reborn, made from a kit bought directly from the sculptor, created by an artist who only paints authentic kits, only to be told by the sculptor it’s no longer authentic! If that can happen what’s the appeal for some of these people to buy authentic? I can imagine them saying if the sculptor can inauthenticate a kit at any time they might as well buy cheap counterfeits, the last thing those people need is one more “justification”.
We all show COA’s, that’s one of the biggest things collectors are told to ask for photos of to prove authenticity. I really wish if it was this big of a deal that Natalie would have taken this into account when creating her COA’s, maybe putting the confidential info on one side and the photos and edition info on the other to be shown publicly. I also think it’s pretty ridiculous to be told that we all should have known because she made a video telling us. I didn’t see that video, so didn’t know, but if it had been in the instructions or a little note in the box with the kit I wouldn’t have shown mine. It’s awful that someone who did what we all do and is the norm in our industry is being blasted and shamed as if she bought a kit from aliex.
I did message Natalie about it before she sees the screenshot of my video, explaining I didn’t know, told her what my concerns were and I took my video down until she could review it and let me know. But she hasn’t responded yet.
I agree with everything you said.
