I just politely requested more pix on reborns.com and was denied. They told me they’d posted enough detailed photos on the listing.
If that were the case, why would I have asked?
Is this anyone else’s policy as well?
I’ve never come across this before.
I definitely won’t be buying from them.
Just wondering…how long the seller has been on and what details in the pics were requested.
I asked for pix in a diaper, back and front and
close ups of hands and and feet.
Some artists will only do a photoshoot once and dont do requests for photos. I personally try to include all the photos I can of details and what not so I dont get asked. I dont however do photos of babies in just diapers. Never really thought of it. I guess I will snap a quick one next time i do a photoshoot so i can have it on hand if i get asked for it.
It says they’ve been on for 2 1/2 years. 86 reborns in the nursery, but only 28 sold.
It’s the easiest way to really see the reborn. Lots of photo shoots don’t include the back of the head or don’t show what the body really looks like.
Just laying flat, back and front. It’s not glamorous, but it’s helpful to me.
I also won’t buy a reborn if the palms or feet look burned or purple or have dirty looking creases.
Plus you know how important the nails are. No one wants a slapdash French mani-pedi.
And on AA babies (which this one is), the hands and feet details are even more important to me.
I don’t see any aa dolls for sale by that seller, if it’s the same one. It’s late so maybe she’s done working for the day.It all depends on the pricing too.
It’s an email, they could reply at any time. They bothered to tell me they wouldn’t. Lol
I’ve even had people say they could do it the next day, or that they had to get home from running errands or whatever. That’s fine, I’m not in a rush.
It’s their choice to not share extra pix, but that kind of thing can cost a sale.
I always think that’s odd. I generally supply extra pictures, if I’m asked nicely. Not always right away, but usually within 24 hours.
I wouldn’t buy the doll either unless they have closeups of hands and feet. Those can be a real deal breaker.
I actually don’t care if it’s in a diaper or just completely undressed. Just looking to see the whole thing, looking basic.
Yeah, I dunno. I was really surprised.
I pack my dolls up until they sell and so I usually say no.
However. I’ve had a troll ask for pictures in just a diaper every few days so now I just say no. Could be that same thing and she’s sick of it. Lol
I can understand that. Asking once is enough for me. I won’t continue to consider that doll, though.
I’ve done a few very short videos by email to buyers and they were very happy I took the time. They bought the dolls lol
That’s cool. Anything that shows is usually helpful!
I don’t mind sending more pictures if asked. I usually stop when it’s " in a pink dress with ruffles" or " a blue shirt with white socks". I don’t have time for that. But I gladly accept to send pictures of closeup, clothe body, different angle etc.
I try to take all the pics I need when I list but sometimes it’s not possible or I forget.
I have learned soon enough to not completely pack the doll before selling because of that😁
Well I understand both sides of this. I take body shots of baby before it is ever dressed so all painting can be seen. I take head shots of my painted hair. I then take shots of baby dressed up cutely. I have huge lighting issues and so it is a big pain to set up my photo lights and scene to get good shots. So when someone asks for more, that is a bit of a pain in the butt! Of course, if it is a legitimate request of a shot I did not show then I will do it. However, I have had folks ask for more pics of the same things I have shown and I have also taken more pics for folks who then just say I really like her and I hope some day I can buy one like her. Sometimes it is a time waster and that gets frustrating. It is hard to gage why she reacted the way she did but if she did not show the angles/shot you needed to see and does not want to then there is probably a reason that would deter you from buying the doll.
It’s absolutely her choice whether or not to send extra pics. But yep. That could cost her a sale. And it probably does, often.
Maybe this is why she has 86 babies in her nursery and only 28 have sold.
All I can say is you know what you’re doing and I know that can be a real time and aggravation saver.
Seriously though, if a customer asked me for more photos, I would do it. As many of you said here, it could make the difference between making a sale or not.
