Cuddle body suggestions

I hadnt seen a thread specific to naming where good cuddle bodies are suggested. Ive seen some gorgeous squishy velvet type bodies but wasnt sure where they came from. Thinking about doing a cuddle doll, as i might be able to finish my first few dolls quicker with less anxiety. Thanks in advance everyone

the squish bodies are ordered by messaging” Alex and Ricky Kreig” on Facebook. She is Tiny Succulent Nursery, but takes custom orders all through messenger.

What do you mean by “squish” bodies? Do you stuff and weight them yourself, or are they the “squish” consistency that was super popular in toys several years back?

You can do either. She sells them stuffed or unstuffed.

I like the way it poses.

yes- they are and velvety feeling like the squishmallows. I buy them unstuffed and weight them because I prefer to stuff them a lot firmer than she does.

Does she do orders outside of Facebook?
I’d love a couple, if someone was willing to put an order in for me I could just PP F&F the amount…

I asked her and she said only through facebook for now

I love the look of this cuddle body (good grief, he is soooo adorable ) May I ask a few questions about cuddle babies though…I have never made one so am not conversant with them, but it seems that there are more ladies doing them these days… So firstly - who do you mostly sell them to… the general public or are they therapy babies or made for younger collectors??? How well do they sell - and do they sell as well as reborns with vinyl limbs? and lastly do you get the same sort of prices for them as a vinyl limb doll?

Thank you!!! I find that my normal vinyl baby collectors usually buy them up. There is a lot of interest in them for memory care but probably not at this price point.

I charge less for them than I do regular babies. My full limbed babies usually range from $1400-1600. I sell these for about $500 less. There is a lot less work involved when you don’t paint the limbs.
Personally I charge this way because:

  1. I don’t want someone buying one for cheap and adding poor quality limbs from another artist. If they don’t disclose that it would hurt my reputation. I put my full detail and then some into these dolls so imo they command the price. The head is worth 2/3 the price in my mind.
  2. I can add on the limbs, charge $500 and get back my full-limbed price on the doll.

I haven’t had problems with dolls selling lately so I can’t really say which sells better. I just get a lot more messages and comments about cuddle babies so I sometimes go on a spurt and paint a bunch because I know the demand is there. It’s the fun part anyway!

she charges $50 for unstuffed, $100 for stuffed- she has free shipping so you would be better off finding a friend to order through their page at home so you don’t have to pay shipping

Thanks Aly… Have wondered about that since I first saw one… I just assumed they were therapy doll or something like that… I have to say that I can’t imagine you would have much trouble selling either style - cuddle or vinyl limbs…
