My thoughts exactly. A con artist can pay their fee, sell all they want, and keep it moving. If they listed nursery only, no one would even see it.
I get why he would be concerned about this, agree that it should have been addressed with the video creator, which it has been, but this was an isolated incident after many years of operating, so I don’t think the ugly pink banner was warranted.

One of the things I liked most about reborns.com was that you could let your membership lapse if you didn’t have any dolls to sell. I really don’t want to just give away $19.99 a month. If I did, I’d give it to someone who really needs it.

I liked that too. I sell off of IG with a reborns link in my bio. If I don’t pay this membership fee, I will remove the link. Customers don’t know what they are looking at and why. It may scream red flag to them, so no thanks.

Well I sold my Larry on Etsy. They took about $160 in fees. So I promptly deleted the rest of my listings and said bye.

I just can’t follow his thinking, what makes a person a scammer because he has allowed us to have the free option, but if we pay the membership fee, we won’t be a scammer. Maybe we could make the world a better place, everyone pay Dave a fee and no one will ever do a rotten, dishonest unkind thing again!!

The way I see it, he’s just shooting himself in the foot. We have all spent years recommending his site to customers. We constantly tell them that they don’t have to worry about getting scammed there. Now he’s flat out telling them that he might actually be a scam site. So years of building his validity and now he’s ruining it with one pink banner. Someone better get a new site going ASAP. He’s doing all the work necessary to push everyone away from his…artists and customers alike.

This is so true. I have not messaged him yet, but at the very least we should have been told he was putting this banner up on all free nurseries and given the option to hide our nursery.

I think this is everyone’s problem here. When things change everyone has to find out in some messed up kind of way. We never know prior and scramble to figure out what is going on afterwards.

After I knew what created this situation I figured he had not thought it all the way through and made this change in a moment of panic. I am glad the he is agreeable to altering it in some way, because many of us paint on the side. It is quite often that the few dolls I have time to paint are sold through Facebook and I have none to list, not because I am a scammer, quite the opposite. People have followed me on social media and purchase from me because they know I am genuine in my work and customer service.

I think he is trying to intimidate us. I suspect a LOT of people are switching to free. I did so because sales stopped happening 6 months ago there although I sold many dolls on Etsy. Whatever changes he has been making lately, it’s adding up to no sales. I can’t even find where there is an option to close my nursery. So it just sits there with a banner insinuating I am a scammer. I want to quit. Anyone know how I do that?
