Can we hide our "free" reborns.com nursery?

I have not taken down the dolls I have sold on reborns.com or closed my account because I do have dolls to list sometimes, but not every month. I have a few I thought I might list and now see this banner across all my dolls. These dolls were listed and sold during times that I was a paid member- but now they might not be authentic. I would be happier having my dolls not show at all than Dave adding this implying that they may not be authentic. Wow just wow is all I can say!

Is there a way to hide the free nursery or do I just have to hide each doll, remove them, or just close my account.

WOW when did this start? I just looked and mine says it too. I only pay for a month when I have something for sale. No point in paying when I don’t WOW! I mean he is just turning into a real snot about things isn’t he!?!

What?!? I let my account lapse sometimes when I only have a doll or two to sell. I am NOT happy about this change! And what does he really do any differently with the paid membership accounts other than earn money? Likely nothing.

I just added this bit of info to my about me page.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT PAY A MONTHLY FEE FOR THIS ACCOUNT WHEN I DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING TO SALE. THEREFORE, I USE THE “FREE ACCOUNT” OPTION DURING THOSE TIMES. THIS DOES NOT IN ANY WAY MEAN THAT MY AUTHENTICITY AS AN ARTIST IS NOT VERIFIED IN THE REBORN DOLL COMMUNITY. YOU CAN FIND ME ON FACEBOOK, THE INTERNET AND CONTACT ME PERSONALLY AT ANY TIME.

If you look back to when he suddenly did away with the Silver level membership he told us he had added the free option and thought it was a win win because if we sent someone to Reborns to look at our dolls we were advertising for him. Now he does this to us with no notice at all that I got. We advertise for him and he tells customers that we and our nurseries might not be authentic even though I have paid him many times. Why would I want to advertise that?

I love it! I am going to do the same.

Ask Dave. Maybe he will change it if people start to complain. It absolutely does make us look like scammers. I too would rather completely hide my free nursery instead of having it show up with a pink warning banner.

He did it because there is a lady who made a video about scammers being on the site. And that she no longer recommends it
It was a day old account that was removed as soon as he knew about it.

She has since been contacted and said she will do a follow up

He sure wasn’t worried about our “authenticity” during the months when we were paying him!!!

Dang, he sure is all about the buyers now. And making a lot of decisions based off of one incident.

Can we all copy and paste this for our accounts? Lol

Sure, I am fine with it.

Yep. And it will hurt him ultimately. Often times we direct people to his site through our own link when we are in free nursery mode. But I won’t do that anymore. Most artists won’t if it’s going to alert customers that they may be scammers. I really don’t think Dave has any clue how much we direct people to his site. One day we will all stop and move on to a better site and he can watch his wither. Without artist support, he is nothing. And since he is supporting artists less and less, he will get less and less of our support.

This is awful.

I really need to get moving on the new site after the holidays.

I renewed, so the banner went away, but this will likely be the last time. I would have went with eBay, but I don’t have my account set up for managed payments.

I just sent a msg requesting he delete my account. I used his site years ago when I first started but my revenue was never from there. I literally sold only one baby there. So I purchased my own and have been using that since then. I hate to think that someone out there would come upon that old link and start to question the authenticity of me and my nursery and told him just as much. After much searching there was no option to delete the account so I changed all my information to “not applicable” as a just in case.

So how’s etsy for selling?

I just read the post on reborns.com regarding the video about the scammer. I feel Dave panicked because the youtuber has a big following, but why couldn’t he add this disclaimer to someone new that joins only with a free nursery and has no verified sales? I am not in the same category as that person just because I don’t have dolls to list every month. I will write him tomorrow to express my thoughts.

I was going to say the same thing. If we have verified sales, this should not apply to us! I currently have a subscription, but once these babies sell, I will let it lapse until I have at least 2 or 3 more to sell.
