does anyone know when the first AD welcome home emily was made. also would anyone know if the ones that are the latest out have changed at all. vinyl, hair, ect ect…or do you think that they are pretty much the same either closed eyes or open. just wondering also where would the best place to buy her from. hope someone has a little information. and thanks

I have two of the sleeping ones (both older) and they are the same -I know that is not any help -sorry
I don’t know a thing about when she first came out but I have recently acquired 3 Emily dolls now. They all 3 seem to have the same vinyl to me. Here is a photo I took of them together.

I plan to eventually reborn them all but I am enjoying them now like they are.
they are all so cute , do they all have different names or just welcome home emily, i love them all i am partial to the sleeping one i think, i wish i could make some money and have them all, but alas i think i need an old old millionaire. lol thanks for the pics.

Amen to that! I think getting started is the hardest part of this art. Once you can sell a baby or two, you can use that money for more kits and keep going, hopefully netting a small profit each sale.
The sleeping one is Welcome Home Emily. This one came in a cream sweater sleeper.
The sleeping baby also comes in a newer breathing version with a different outfit and is called Sweet Dreams Emily.
The open eyed baby in pink pjs is Loving Eyes Emily and she came dressed in a pink sweater shirt and bottoms
The one with the 3/4 legs in the pink dress is Celebration of Life Emily and that is the dress she came in. She also comes in a newer version dressed in a Christmas dress called Merry Christmas Emily.
There is another version called Angels Danced Emily but I don’t care for the eyes on it as they look really bugged out. Here is a link to one on Ebay.

There is also a new Emily out that has factory rooted hair that is modeled after one of Hellan Jalland’s reborns. It is called EMILY REBORN FROM THE HEART
I did find out it’s the 25th anniversary of Emily.

I think the sleeping Emily is the most popular face and probably my favorite but I love all 3 faces I got and that is why I am keeping them all!
For some reason that new one just doesn’t appeal to me. I would rather have one of the old faces so I can remove the glued hair and reborn it.
There are some good deals on Ebay right now on the older Emily dolls like I got. I paid $55, $45 and $63 for each of mine plus shipping and every one was in excellent condition.
Great job on the Emily trivia Angie! just wanted to add that Alex also has the 3/4 legs but is the Emily face…they were all produced by Ashton Drake…so…wherever you buy them…they all come from the same manufacturer. I do think they have changed the vinyl from time to time as some of them were darker in color than others. I think the first Emily came out around 2003 because it was my second year reborning. I have been seeing reports on forums of AD dolls turning yellow (which is easy enough to deal with) and have seen pictures of AD Emilys with ‘falling head syndrom’…the heads had thin spots and are developing deep dimples in those thin spots…so I would ask some questions about those deals on ebay. I agree that Welcome Home Emily (sleeper) seems to be the favorite by far!
