I just washed my kit and am about to start painting. It’s drying now. I’m so nervous that I will mess it up.

Don’t be nervous just enjoy the process. Don’t expect your first baby to be perfect the more kits you paint you will see how much you improve with every one. It’s such a lovely hobby so be kind to yourself and have fun.

I don’t know if you intend to sell your babies or keep them but take plenty of photos then you can compare them over time.
