AA Flesh

I have begun working on a ‘darker skinned’ baby (not really AA) and I am having a devil of a time trying to ‘darken’ the flesh. I swear I’ve put a hundred coats of paint and it just doesn’t get any darker-----any suggestions?? I’ve not painted a darker skinned baby this is my first one.

Add blue and reds into your skintone mix

Burnt umber, raw umber and a touch of ultramarine blue will darken it up fast.

Yes I agree. Also? Don’t make it super thin.

Oh wow. I didn’t get a notification about being tagged here! :woman_shrugging:t4: Or maybe I got multiple tags at once and only the last one populated.

Ok great. Two people answered your question. Yes, burnt umber and ultramarine blue are my go to for darkness…and we don’t do wash thin paint with them.

@Keneen, do you mix them together or put them on in individual layers?

I usually do individual layers. But, when I’m tired of layering…I mix the two :joy::rofl:

LOL. Layering does give it a nicer effect, though.
