Thought I would share this version of Sage, I had way too much fun! When you are doing a traditional reborn and you have to be very careful with how you use blue, it is powerful and can ruin a baby fast. When you are purposefully painting a GHSP baby blue it takes forever for the blue to go from grey to vibrant. I painted this baby as a traditional reborn but something made me go blue (My nine year old had something to do with that). I got these eyes from the UK, one pair left, so glad I got to use them.
There are a lot of stories surrounding blue skinned beings from fairytale to spiritual.
While most people are painting Christmas babies I was doing this.
(not a big fan of Christmas, I know, I know…maybe I had lead paint in my house growing up, I have damage)
Thank you. I have been experimenting by mixing different clays together. I tried epoxy but the color is so dark and you have very little time before it starts to harden, the upside is that its much stronger.
Gorgeous Baby! 75% of babies I paint are alternatives…I love the freedom of painting my interpretations of Fantasy creatures/beings.
Thank you SO much for sharing! It’s really inspiring to see other alternatives other than zombies, Avatars, elves/fairies. I’ll soon be working on a Frog/Toad inspired reborn, so I hope he/she will turn out just as beautiful as yours.
Plus your baby reminds me of Panthro from a cartoon called Thundercats that I watched growing up.
