Why can't people just make up their minds?

Ugh. I was trying to sell a boo-boo baby on FB. Definitely NOT my best work but just figured someone would love him for cheap instead of me dismantling him for parts. I listed him for $125 shipped.

First girl…I want him! Can you send me a safety pic?
Sure. Sent.
I’ll take him…here’s my PayPal address.
Ok thanks! Wrap him and box him up. Tape box. Ready for label.
Three hours later…so sorry but I just checked my funds and I can’t afford him right now. Can you cancel the invoice?
No problem.

Next girl. I’m very interested, can you send me more pics?
I already boxed him up. Here’s the safety photo I sent the last girl. What other photos would you like?
Hair, hands, and feet.
Sure…Cut open box, unwrap and undress him. Here they are.
I’ll take him. Here’s my PayPal address but can you split the invoices in two, one for $25 and one for $100?
Oooook. Sent.
I paid the $25 one. Do you have an Instagram?
One hour later…I’m sorry but can you cancel my other invoice and refund the $25? I’m not 100% with his hair.

Come ooooooon!

It’s the price range. The neediest customers are the ones wanting low priced dolls. :woman_facepalming:t2:

That’s so true. I have sold to $700 dolls this week yet the Vintage or jusa dolls at $125 will not sell because the people looking at them get pissy when I reiterate that they are not silicone oh, that their hair is painted, and no they are not as realistic as my other dolls. The listing clearly states that they were vintage dolls and project babies which is why they are cheap. I’ve had this conversation three times this week one of which ended abruptly when a guy offered me $100 for Corvin.

Seriously! I’m like, it’s $100, how picky can you get?

Edited to say…$100 is a lot but not for a reborn.

Many time wasters . $350 doll and they offer $200 . I mean yes make an offer but should be sensible … if I wanted $200 I would post that one … but they would offer $50 .
They ha d no idea how much time takes to take all dose photos and answer questions etc .

Yes! I get this one girl (Charlotte), she does this all the time! Really wants my Tavie, it’s her dream baby, she’s in love with it…but can’t afford it. What’s the lowest I would go?

I tell her I have some cheaper kits that would be more in her budget. Again, what the lowest I could go. I tell her 200 (I would do a budget baby just for her) she asks what would come with it? Seriously!? You want me to make a baby for free, basically, and then you want a bunch of clothes too?

That’s why I’ve decided no customs and maybe no more selling on Facebook. Everyone acts like you’re having a garage sale, instead of selling a PIECE OF ART. I’m going to try to stick with selling platforms from now on because that’s where the collectors, who know how much they’re worth, usually seem to buy from.

I hate FB for that. And everytime when I saw ‘Show me what you got’ hundreds of dolls showing up for almost nothing.

The doll comes with a lovely cardboard box. :joy:

Guess I got lucky recently. I reluctantly listed a reborn for a low price, knowing I’d probably get annoying time wasters. But I was a serious boo-boo baby and definitely not my best work so I didn’t want to charge more.
Imagine my surprise when a kind lady contacted me asking if she was still available, paid for it and sent her adress. The whole interaction took place within an hour. I’ll be sending the package today, so I’m still a tiny bit nervous, but at least this part went smoothly.

I think I’m headed down this road. I don’t need the headaches.

Yeah!! I mean sure make an offer but please be fair!! I have gone to shows before and have asked for discounts but we are talking paying 270 for a doll originally priced at 300 and even asking for 30 off is a bit cheaky.

A lot of customers in that price range really are sweet and grateful. But the majority of the entitled brats are in the price range too.
