I thought it would be nice to make a thread of your favorite places to buy your hair you root with. This way members can check it out if they like. If I want human hair I look on amazon. I’ve also brought human hair from my local beauty store. I’ve brought hair from the quirky chromatist, Angela sprott. I have some from go baby. I haven’t used it n probably won’t. I just seen it’s yearling. I love the hair @Estelle85 used on her Emphram. Thank you @mcurbelo for posting the link for the hair you using on cuddles. I ordered some. Who is your favorite supplier to get your hair from?
I also love Angela’s mohair! I’m not sure how it happened but I’ve amassed quite a collection of it. I have also been sitting on some beautiful Golden Fleece that I can’t wait to try out, I just haven’t been able to match a skin tone to it yet. And- I bought my first batch of Delta Dawn that I NEED to try ASAP. (My mohair hoard might actually rival the size of my kit hoard now that I think of it)
I buy mine from
Heike Politz-HP Babylocks
The Quirky Chromatist
HairForDollsRU KarmanDolls - Etsy on Etsy
and I also use some hair from the Heavenly Illusions site in Germany and I have recently tried some hair from Angora Mohtique which I really like and some from another Etsy shop in France…its not as nice as the others but I like it for curly hair loutraismohair - Etsy
Slumberland, @sugargliderus and I’ve been processing my own. Hoping to release some soon! I’ve heard amazing things about HP Babylocks too!
Angela although she hasnt had any for awhile now. I have also used silk effex. Love her hair. I used it on my ghost baby and it was perfect.
I have Slumberland, Go Baby, APlus, Silkeffex and probably others but I really love Silkeffex and would only use that if I didn’t have this other.
@Rainbowbabies almost exclusively. Have used HP Babylocks, which was good but I highly prefer Golden Fleece Mohair. I always get kid
I have only used J’s premium mohair and I love it! May try others in the future.
I have used a lot of Slumberland kid, some Sugarglierus and now I have been really happy with the Quirky Chromatist lately. Slumberland is the softest and easiest to style with curls etc for a newborn–but it is kid so it is tedious for a larger head or if you want straight. That is why I have tried the others. I prefer yearling or superfine adult in Quirky. My blond adult was coarser than I like but it might have been just a bad bunch. And I not 100% with any of them because I think sometimes it is the variability between the goats change the mohair when rooting. Some of the softest, straightest mohair ends up frizzy and some frizzy looks great when styled into curls.
