What should I do? (resolved)

@PutABonnetOnIt I understood that. But if you were talking about vinyl gloves (I meant vinyl as material) and earlier in the thred it was said that vinyl dolls are indestructible… You see my point?

Oh yes, that makes sense exactly right. Some times I dodge on and off the forum and brain is not as engaged as it should be.

The temps probably have something to do with it I would guess. I have a few boxes of gloves sitting her that I bought about 3 years ago and they feel the same for now. I will keep an eye on them though

Many people have latex allergies so I wouldn’t recommend latex.

I have never had any issues with vinyl gloves breaking down. I get the ones from Sally Beauty Supply.

The beauty supply ones would be especially good since they are very chemical resistant. Are they the thick black ones?

No they are clear. I use them to contain the smaller beads and weight the head. I pay extra for the extra large ones from Abrasive Armory that I can actually put into a trouser hose. However, when in a pinch and before I found the extra large ones I did use gloves to contain the smaller ones and then put the filled gloved into a trouser hose and that in the body cavity. It works fine. I have opened up my own dolls as well as dolls made by others this way years down the road and no problems. I think the confusion comes in with latex gloves and balloons that used to be used. Those will break down over time.

I use these for head and limbs. They are larger but still need to be contained in a glove because they will still work through a trouser hose. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Glass-Bead-MIL-No-3-20-30-Sieve-10-lbs-Reborn-Doll/123644633865?hash=item1cc9cb6309:g:6SYAAOSw0qdcXLcy

I put these in a trouser hose. And in case no one realizes it, a trouser hose is much thicker than a knee high. You can get them for $1 a pair at Dollar Tree. I would NEVER use knee highs they are too porous and prone to run and tear.

This is the larger bead that will work well in a trouser hose.

Wow, long thread and I didn’t read all of it. Probably had enough opinions at this point, so what one more? I think if someone specifically details products listed, they should use such products. If it’s a generic within acceptable products, then they have more room to switch it up. I don’t see a problem with cotton squares or balls in the limbs and heads, if the desired outcome is achieved.I never tried it personally. Those look like the type of beads I use. I double them in trouser socks. I also seal and plug every opening imaginable. I’m wondering if a lot or mfg # changed. And that is the reason for the difference in appearance? Disregard if that was addressed.

Reminds me of a time when an artist was found to be using aquarium rocks in her babies. It may not be the worst material possible, but it sure isn’t the good standard for reborning that glass beads, plastic pellets, and baby fat beads are.
