What is unverified buyer?

What does it mean on PayPal when the payment has cleared but it says the buyer is unverified? Should I go ahead and ship?

Does it have that the address is confirmed and OK to ship?
It’s my understanding that the unverified can happen when a buyer uses a computer they don’t normally use. At least, that is what I was told by a rep some years ago. There is a high possibility that you receive a totally different explanation if you talk to someone else there. I strongly urge you to contact Paypal prior to mailing to make sure all is well and you are covered.

I was told that the unverified means that the person has not been through the checks they do when you attach a bank account or credit or debit card to the paypal account. When you add a new card or bank account, paypal does a check by withdrawing $1 or less from your account and then when you go into paypal they ask you to verify the amount they had withdrawn (they re-deposit it so no money taken from you) This way they can verify that the account or credit card you have attached is indeed yours. Sometimes people through inexperience do not know that they need to do this and sometimes people just don’t bother. I have never had a problem with ‘unverified’ purchasers so not really sure if it is significant from your end or if it is something that paypal needs to deal with…probably best to maybe call and ask a rep just to be sure though…I have to say and many sales I have done have been unverified buyers and it did not affect my sale

It means, they have not linked a bank account or phone number to PayPal. No biggie, customers are unverified all the time. Some choose not to link bank accounts, some forget to add phone number(me)…lol
