Ladies, when you are looking to buy a reborn kit, what are you looking for? Cost, size eyes, closed eyes, etc.
I don’t like open eyes. I know a lot of people don’t like the sleeping babies, but I want my babies to look peaceful and have their eyes closed :). I just got started, but I go for the one that is adorable, and don’t look as much at the price tag.
You’ll learn what features you like. You’ll learn to look at the details, nose, mouth, eyes, etc. and just know what you like.
I look at ears. I want them to look real. Fingers and toes are important to me as well. I don’t like them webbed if it can be helped. I love 19" babies cause most everything new born will fit.
I like open eyes that can talk to me; however, detail in the arm/hands, legs and feet are equally as important…
I like open and closed eyes, not so wrinkled faces… lol, detailed hands and feet, no webbed toes or fingers if possible and realistic ears as well. I go for the open hand kits myself. Not too sure of the weird shaped open mouths… like twin A, twin B, Saskia, Elyse, Celeste, etc. but yet like the option of a full pacifier for some of them… lol
I like the eyes open. But eventually I’m gonna try one with the eyes closed. The 2 kits I have now, I brought cause i thought they were cute, not looking at details. But today when I was looking at kits, i noticed the hands n feet. I’m gonna be more attentive to the details of the next kit I order.
I like detailed hands and feet and smooth foreheads. When they’re too wrinkled or scrunched they look like they’re in pain to me. I like both open and closed eyes but I think the sleeping ones look more realistic simply because awake babies are in constant motion. Cute and inexpensive are my ideals.
Ears ears ears…The rest of the sculpt could be amazing, but if the ears aren’t right, I pass on the kit. I also like babies with really expressive mouths. Real babies make the strangest faces imaginable and while most of the kits with the perfect baby features are really lovely, I tend to look for the ones with non “typical kit” features; open mouths, tongues, pouty lips etc, but stopping short of un-natural (i.e Celeste lol). I prefer open eyes over closed, but it’s not a determining factor for purchase.
I love the more real looking sculpts but I look at the facial features, and the wrinkles. I love the more realistic feet and fingers. I like both open and closed eyes, and that part doesn’t bother me.
I like realism in the hands and feet also. NO gaping mouths or WIDE open eyes. Nice ears are a must. I also DON’T like really big lips. It’s funny when you first start out you just seem to love all the babies and after awhile you start getting really picky!! You realize what reborns Well and what reborns NOT so well. I guess we start seeing the vinyl different. I also notice where eyebrows go now and some sculpts are very hard to place your brows. We just get more observant after a while!!!
I look for things like head shape, hands and feet, ears and lots and lots of detail! But most of all I just look for the one that tugs my heartstrings…if they make my heart skip a beat I can always overlook the little things, like too big ears or plain limbs.
I am very picky. I look at all of the sculpts in blank form Eyes open or closed does not matter but I prefer detailed open hands and feet.Ears can be a big blahh if they are not right but not as bad as the double, triple chins the neck fat really hurts a sculpt for me. I like a nice shaped head, a face that is not too flat. I do like open mouth or some expression and thumb suckers.
Ears and I don’t love closed hands. Eyes idc! In loving choosing eyes right now. :0)
I like babies with character! I have in my collection all kind of boo boo babies but yet not. They all had something wrong that have bend fixed. I love the ones that look real. Not so dolly. I love diversity though. I do wish they had more kits with DS
rofl…unnatural…whew! that’s a kit only a reborner could love…
Unnatural in a very different way, but I actually found 2 kits that put Celeste to shame.
First I look for face that appeals to me. The head is the most important thing, after all if you love the baby’s face you can always get different limbs. When I see one I like I check the limbs for detail and proportions, and most importantly ears. I can live with some imperfections but ears that look like handles of a coffee mug are hard to live with
Realism, Don’t like dolly look and lack of detail…Limbs definitely - detailed and natural - not awkward like some where you can’t figure what to do with their hands when you are trying to position them. I like unique expressions, limited edition plays a part if I am wanting it for myself but not important though if selling…Love sleepers as I think they are much more realistic…do like open eyes as well but think they lack the realism because you expect more from an open eyed baby - eye, head and limb movements…Don’t mind a few brow wrinkles (though I had to be conditioned to like them as they were a total turn off when I first started seeing them.) No excessive wrinkles on forehead and I just can’t get into the really deep creases and egg knots in the middle of the brows and between the eyes…The more baby baby the sculpt, the more I love it.
