She is stunning! Wow! But I agree better with no cuts.
I’m not a fan of the cuts either. I know that babies tend to scratch their face and it’s normal to have cuts but I prefer a more clean look. I know a lot of people like the cuts though. I would never do more than one on a doll especially on the face.
Little babies do scratch themselves, but these scratches look very deep, more like she was savaged by a cat. Also she is not a little baby.
I never found that blemishes are something people want. The last doll I put a birthmark (due to black spot) on took a long time to sell, but I got number of people asking if I can remove the mark! Then one lady actually said “my daughter has a spot exactly like that, but can you move it and inch”.
I agree. Beautiful baby. But all I want to do is go rub some neosporin on those cuts. One would be okay. But yep, looks like the cat got hold of her, or another toddler in daycare…or she’s a very rough and tumble child like my boys. I do see one owie on her knee. But babies with that many owies on the face, usually have scrapes and bruises on their legs too. Must have been a one time incident of a cat or a toddler getting her, with an adult intervening before it got too bad.
I just hope she comes with a “boo boo report.”
Aww I actually love that little birthmark
Love this. It would be cute with a toddler doll with a scraped up knee.
I think this sculpt looks too old to have cuts/scratches like that. The Levi I’m currently working on came with two small green spots in the vinyl, which I have had to turn into scratches. I prefer a clear complexion but this gave me some practice in doing scratches in case a customer ever wants a baby with them. Levi is newborn and age appropriate.
The doll is cute but seems kinda expensive to me to have very little detail (no crease color on legs at all), just seems devoid of color to me-----except on the face, that’s real nice.
This seller was discussed in here before. I can’t remember though
That is difficult because many older children do not have such dark creases and blotching. In the 3rd picture I can see details on the legs including a vein.
Sometimes camera does not pick up the details. I often enticed that with my dolls; I do like the blotching quite subtle, and then in photos it looks invisible, especially if I have to use a flash.
I agree about the scratches. I have 5 children and 2 of them are small, a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old and maybe MAYBE they’d have a scratch that deep but neither have on their face- maybe the knees during the warm weather season let alone 2. Basically what I mean is a used to do blemishes on the faces but found out they sell better once I don’t.
But hey, what do I know! This doll is selling for more than double my highest selling price.
Regardless of the scratches she is beautiful and super realistic.
I agree, I also only do them if there is a blemish in the vinyl (hasn’t happened) or if I happen to accidentally smudge the paint or have paint on my fingers and touch the doll and don’t notice until after it’s baked. I try to keep them off the face if at all possible, unless requested
BEAUTIFUL baby! I agree with @katieperry but I must not know either cause I’ve never dreamed of being able to sell that high!
I don’t mind the scratches, She is a beautiful baby, but way out of price range for me.
the seller should not sell her as new, she isn’t the artist
Asking that price does not mean she will get it. She probably paid that or more to buy it, but I have seen brand new prototypes that somebody tried to resell after only very short time, few weeks, and not be able to get 1/2 of what they paid.
