Weighted full vinyl doll?

I have a lady asking me to make two full vinyl reborn dolls and she wants the baby 17/18 inches and weigh about 5 lbs ?

I have been pondering it and I am not even sure if weighted limbs would stay on being that heavy.
Has anyone ever done it ? If i can even find the right parts to put it together.

I have done it before bu 5lbs may be to much, and make sure you bag it in stockings so you don’e have any leakage. use a full torso kit to make it work correctly.

Put the majority of the weight in the body, some in the head. Only fill the limbs about 1/2 to 3/4 full with weighting beads and fill the rest with polyfill. They won’t fall off.

What kits are that size that are full vinyl?

I just did a 21" baby that ended up weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces. He seemed very stable. I only filled the limbs half way, and the inner cloth body was on really good.

I did a large baby with 3/4 jointed legs and a leg came off.

What kit would you use for that?
It’s quite heavy, but if you put most of the weight in the torso, it should be fine.

Thats what I am worried about the limbs coming off.

That is what i was thinking too .

I really appreciate everyone’s help and ideas !
Thank you very much ladies …

How did you use a inner cloth body on a full vinyl baby ?

Angel, Harper, Maggie and Maddox are all full bodies and require a cloth body inside. You but the cloth body inside and the attach the limbs through the arm and leg holes before adding the stuffing and weighting materials.

Do the limbs attatch to cloth body with cable ties then?

Yes. The torso is kinda a “sleeve” lol

You put the cloth body into the torso then attach the legs, stuff the belly, attach arms, then head. The head is more difficult. But if you can position the arms into the arm holes enough to give a little extra fabric at the neck hole to attach the head then pull the arms back right. NO fabric should show outside of the torso.
