Here is my Whitney Huti in progress! I was so excited I wanted to share her. She is bi-racial vinyl painted with LDC paints. I did paint her on bare vinyl without priming it first with GMV (Genesis Matte Varnish) as I sometimes do and she seems to have taken it well with no shine. However, this morning I found on her left leg at the top of her ankle in the front there are 5 nicks in the vinyl that looks like razor blade nicks. Since I have had nothing sharp near her, I think she came this way and they just didn’t show up til she was painted. Being that I think I am the 3rd owner of this kit there is no telling how they got there and I got her at such a super deal I do not care. They only go through the surface of the vinyl but they can be seen under light. I am thinking I may go back and seal them with GMV for extra strength in that area but I will have to wait 2 weeks to do that so the LDC doesn’t turn orange under heat. I don’t know that I will seal the whole doll in GMV though because I have already glossed her mouth and am not sure how that will do under heat. Plus she had a yellow spot on her left cheek when I got her that I had to bleach out with acne cream and I would rather not subject her to heat which is why I didn’t prime her with GMV to begin with.
Anyways, I am very happy with this baby as I got her to reborn to keep. I have been wanting a Huti baby and wanted an AA with personality and in her I have found both! I have some curly black mohair coming from Carolyn and plan to give her a full head of curly hair.
Pics with no flash. (I have to post just the links because this forum says the pics are too big)
