Walmart "reborn"

Someone was reaching out to me about purchasing a doll. Wanted to know what the differences were from Walmart collector dolls!?
I was explaining these are reborn (they claim that as well)
I went into detail about being hand painted and personal (they claim that as well)
I explained the weighting and feel of the dolls. The 3d effects of an artist type doll. I was frustrated so I went looking myself and can see where some will get duped. I don’t see anything about their weighting or any details of painting but they were able to stay at or under the $100 mark.

Looks like a Chinese knockoff reborn.Yes they claim hand painted and rooted etc.,but they are not, if you ever see one in person, you can tell it’s all factory done.

Yes,but apparently China gets away with saying anything on their listings. They claim handmade and that is an absolute lie as far as these so called reborns.

I realize they are the knock offs and has no real comparison in person. I think each of us realize the true work is in the details. The way they are somehow able to misrepresent and sell on such a large plat form really upsets me! I knew it was individuals in large masses but this seemed even more disturbing to me for some reason?

They are kinda handmade, in that people paint them by hand in China. One listing had a video where you could see someone painting one of these. It was some quick color on the lips and cheeks and it was done.
They’re all made in factories, though, and they all come out looking the same.
Maybe that’s a way of explaining it. A real reborn will always be unique, one of these never will be.

I bought a “reborn” doll on Walmart.com. It’s from China. The doll was poor quality paint, like they air brushed it on. Had black marks on extremities. I attempted several times even there time zone to return it, only 1 email from them asking for pictures and order #. Walmart refunded my $110 plus shipping. Had I known ahead of time it was from China I would NEVER bought it! I added pictures of this doll, besides the lips it came this way. I not recommend it!!

WOW! That’s really a sad looking baby! THANKFUL it worked out for you in the end. I feel bad for all the people that think they are getting a quality doll.

When I ordered this doll from Walmart I was very new to the reborn world. I have learned a lot from this forum and other artists on YouTube. So thanks to everyone out there! Hope this helps the original sender.

I noticed Paradise galleries have some on there the Ping Lau’s caught my attention such cute features on the faces .

Aliexpress, has Pilar & Raven, Levi, Charlotte, Tim Leger, Tammi Murray, Kylin Tuzio knockoffs–just to name a few. If you check most all of them have the same limbs. There a bunch more on there many I don’t recognize so they may be legit.
