Never ending nightmare! I hope justice will be served and soon, I hope your son will return home as unbroken man. My heart goes for you!

@Evee I thought there was something in our judicial system about protecting our military from being prosecuted against protecting themselves and others. This is so heartbreaking for all concerned.

Oh my Gawd. Thank you for sharing, I know that could not have been easy. 50 years? I hope he has appeals, I hope he has good council, I hope this is overturned. At worst manslaughter? this was self defense. I know the guy was high but no excuse, people on drugs are unpredictable and there was no way your son knew what he was on or what he would do, who in their right mind smashes a glass door for a purse after a party? I am sad he died but it sounds like he had some issues that led to this and his future didn’t look bright and shiny, his sister must feel pretty bad for escalating this.

I swear drugs and alcohol don’t usually lead to happy outcomes.

I am so sorry.

Once again I hope this gets straightened out.

Please don’t use Hydrogen Peroxide in a nebulizer.

THIS IS NOT SAFE.

Please do not spread this information, you would feel terrible if someone was seriously injured. Anyone who has a nebulizer at home should know how to clean and care for it, knows what you can and can not put in it (Only saline and meds specifically designed for a nebulizer and only the prescribed amount of meds).

Anyone with a nebulizer most likely already has lung issues (asthma, COPD…) you don’t want to mess with that. These were small, short studies that mostly used H202 as a mouth wash not nebulizer and the conclusion was it should be studied more.

The danger with people getting ahold of this information that are not medically trained and they start thinking they understand something they do not.

“If this will work, then this should work…”

“If I can take this, why can’t I take this, it is basically the same thing”

Some things are meant to be applied to your skin but not meant to be ingested, some things are safe to put on your hair but not safe for your lungs, some things you can take small doses of over a 24 hours period but will kill you if you take it all at the same time. Unless you are a prescribing physician who has done your homework, a pharmacist who understands formulation, a scientist who has the studies, be patient.

Water, we can’t live without it but it can kill us in so many ways.

This may turn out to be miraculous but lets wait and see before people go out and start hoarding hydrogen peroxide.

My grandmother swears that a vinegar shot in the morning will keep your from getting sick. It turns out that vinegar has medicinal value and it can alter pH and may inhibit a virus settling in your mouth. I wouldn’t snort it, shoot it, nebulize it, put it in my arse or lady department.

Last thing. My daughter had a G-tube at the end of her life. It took forever to heal and it got super gross. I was cleaning it everyday as directed using the solution I was given. A nurse asked at an appointment what I was using and I told her, she said how are you diluting it? I told her I didn’t have directions to dilute it, they just sent us home with the bottle they were using in the hospital. She told me it was hydrogen peroxide and they should have given me instruction to dilute it. It was burning ulcers into her skin, causing her wound not to heal. (note: I did not know what was in it, it was not labeled, she had put it in a smaller bottle for us to take home so it wouldn’t get tossed and we wouldn’t have to stop at the pharmacy).

It’s a good thing, but too much of a good thing no bueno.

Just don’t. Please.

PS. There are over the counter mouthwashes with H202 in them, if you gargle anyway, this might be a safer option, but use your good judgement, better yet, ask your doctor.

Yes, link below, and it is easy to research. We all need to triple check our sources. Times are hard enough we don’t want to make bad worse.

I’m not going to get into it here. Like I said, it has to be diluted to at least 3% or less with normal saline, and I cited two research articles in this thread. The article you cited is geared primarily toward asthmatics, and perhaps they would like to follow whatever their doctors tell them. The article just says it is “dangerous” but does not specify why they say it is. It says: “Inhalation of vapors from concentrated (higher than 10%) solutions may result in severe pulmonary irritation.” Yes, like I said, if higher than 3% concentration is used it can be dangerous, too powerful. Many things can be, even if too high a concentration of albuterol is used, it too an be dangerous. That is why every recommendation from doctors who use it says to dilute it to less than 3%. Even water is dangerous if someone drinks too much of it. Doctors who use this method and follow the research that shows it works (with next to no side effects when used correctly) are smart enough to figure out how to use it properly and show others how to use it properly. People are free to ask their own healthcare providers about it and do as they feel is best. No one is prescribing it here. I’ll take several peer-reviewed articles any day over an article saying something is “dangerous” without specifying why.

You’re not supposed to even put peroxide on wounds and tons of people still do that.

Don’t nebulize hydrogen peroxide for the love of god. What in the world

Lots of studies show it is beneficial… Once again…it is the freedom to make a personal choice!

Little off topic here, but if anyone else cares for a G-tube, coke unclogs it about 99% of the time. Let it sit in there for a while, then flush. I only can remember one time when this didn’t work.

Coke is super harsh. Great for cleaning things/eating through gunk… Makes you wonder why we drink it?

I keep a can of Coke in my work bag at all times for many random things

Yeah you can do that all you want just don’t come to my ER after and whine about it

That’s my issue. People do whatever the hell they want and clog up the ERs with absolute stupidity

I am so sorry you have tried so many avenues with no results. Do you have confidence with his attorney? The deceased man’ sister knows the truth is there anyway she could be persuaded to do the right thing and contact the authorities? Do you think there are still records of the 911 call she made? I understand not everyone has the courage to do this, but I would think it would be on her conscious. I will continue to send your family love and light and prayers that the truth will win. Evee, thank you for sharing this difficult story, prayers can make difference.

Like it’s not hard enough right now in healthcare. I usually don’t engage; I just need to stick with that. :joy: there’s no point. This pandemic has taught me that I was always right for thinking the general public has no friggin clue.

Gastric tube. It goes from the outside of the body directly into the stomach.
