Using the Prismacolor pencil for hair, but am having a hard time with the color transferring to the baby's head...do I need to do a light Matte finish first?

So I have a custom order and she wants very light hair painted on. Can I use just pencils to make the hair? If you have seen the stock pic of Heather by Donna that is how she wants the hair. How would I seal the hair if using air dry paints? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes!! Start with a thin matte layer.

Prisma will not take if you do not have a base coat of either matte or satin finish. It needs the slight roughness to adhere to the vinyl. Be sure to cover the head evenly because if you miss any spots, the pencil will not take.

I’m sure you’ve probably heard this enough, but it helps to start with a light matte layer on the head first before putting the layers on for the hair. I had an issue with this as well. Once you are done with the pencils, you will need to seal it again with a normal layer of matte varnish.
