My advice would be to add more but don’t use the same sponge try a different pattern or texture try smaller holes to blend the skin. A tool I like to use is a stippling tool used with silicone painting they can be bought on Amazon. I recently made the switch to adding “thicker mottling” instead of doing all mot with thinner try mixing paint with thinning medium and use the stippling tool

I use thinning medium on my babies, too ~ love the look and lots of mottling layers, red, yellow, purple, sometimes green
