To paint or to draw hair

Since I’m working on Lainey, he is A boy. I think I want to paint or draw his hair on. I’m thinking painting. I tried a little of both on a test leg, lol. I think the painting would be better. I need some tips on mixing the paint. I know it has to be a lil thicker than normal. Some tips would be great thanks.
