I’ve been a trusted artist for 10 years and find it ridiculous that I have to jump through hoops and prove my worthiness because of scammers. Why should I have to make my life harder because people don’t/won’t take the time to research an item before buying it? We keep putting the responsibility on the sellers to safeguard our buyers. Why can’t they be more proactive in their buying? There are PLENTY of ways for them to shop safely, but many CHOOSE not to do it. WARNINGS are posted all over the forums about what to avoid, but there are still people daily whining about how they were scammed. Buyers will never learn to be responsible as long as the community feels they need to “baby” them on how to shop responsibility. If they need to be parented on how to spend their money wisely, they shouldn’t be on the internet shopping.
I got an email about that yesturday, sounds interesting
I’ve been out all day and I’m just seeing this new change in the titles of our listings. I don’t like it at all and I think it’s a big mistake on Dave’s part. If the sculpt doesn’t have a name, a play doll turned reborn, for example, what then? Just Doll or Baby? Some people have more than one Joseph or June listed, boys, girls, awake, asleep. How will they be differentiated? I think we should have control of how we title our listings. I name most of my babies. No one will ever find those in a search.

I see this also. Mostly on FB groups, it always says sellers should do this/that etc
But if I am spending $100+ (heck for me even $20 lol) research should be a given. If you can’t find any positive feedback about the website that should be a red flag.
Just read another post where someone was asking if a site was legit. The dolls were under $100. They are smart enough to be in reborn scamming sites, but not smart enough to figure out those are scam sites. Calling BS. I think they just like the attention they get when they post and to see people get riled up about those sites. Works every time.
I’m trying to figure out what harm it does to have the extra words. Has anyone asked why he needed to standardize them?
@kareninflorida Is this your fault?
I’m going to, but I can’t get into the site right now. People are commenting on the reborns.com site.
Sure, why not???

I need the winning Powerball numbers. Please PM me those when you get a chance.

I’ll get right on that!

She is beautiful!
I’d really rather not name my pretty baby girl in a frilly dress Joseph just so people can find her.
Not a thing wrong with that baby. I just think most people are done with Christmas shopping.
Well I’m thinking I got her on there to late.
Well I hadn’t though if it that way lol . Maybe that’s part of the problem
No kidding. I saw one of these posts today asking if a site was legit. Obviously they were met with big no from all directions except for one. One lady actually said that she is planning to order one so that she can send it straight back for a refund.
Lady, you aren’t gonna magically be the one that is sent that prototype quality doll for $100 that sold to a private collector long ago. You will be scammed like EVERYBODY else and will likely get no refund at all. I so wanted to reply to her comment, but instead I inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly, deleted what I had begun to write, and carried on with my day. You just can’t fix stupid.
This year has been completely different for me with very few sales… but last year I sold more in January than I did in Nov and Dec. So maybe there is hope
I really don’t like the 1 baby per nursery per day in Babies For Adoption. If someone has 10 babies listed, it’s going to take a long time for all of them to be seen. Didn’t all the available babies used to show in Babies For Adoption?
Thats what I am hoping for as well!
