He just doesnt understand that some of our kits names come with extras or look silly. He shouldnt be deciding what name is too “fluffy” when he doesnt know much about reborn kits or reborning in general. Its why we need to educate him so he understands. Besides, whats the problem anyway, as long as we dont name our babies something offensive, who cares?
I had the same thing with my cuddle baby June last month. I thought i was going crazy. It just showed June if I titled my listing cuddle baby June, newborn June…everything I tried failed. No matter what I tried my listing just said June. Finally I gave up.
Go search cuddle. There are lots of dolls still for sale with the name cuddle in the title. And that’s going to be a hard one for him to band. There’s a sculpt named Cuddles.
I think his goal is more than just high end. I hope so anyway. It would be nice if they would start a thread on this forum for discussion about it too. A lot of people aren’t on Facebook. @bbsupport could you do that? We are excited about the possibility of a selling site.

I know that my English is limited, but this is how I understood this from that FB post: “Since BB is the largest Reborn Supply company in the world, and ROSE is the largest show venue for lifelike dolls, this combination should have considerable clout in alleviating buyer nervousness about the seller. We already prequalified the seller. Buyer can relax that they will be getting a quality product from a certified seller.”
I’m not ready to commit my idea to the bb business fb thread yet, as I feel it can be fine tuned and kicked about here first.
I was thinking, since Nevin wants to back all sales to protect the artists & buyers… perhaps he could have well known and established/ easily verifiable artists identified as certified/verified/trusted/BBbacked/etc by a specially designed watermark and badge. These artists would be given priority showing on the website free of charge and BB would receive a commission on all sales made through the site. They would not have a limit to the amount of dolls they could post, or the frequency at which they could post them.
Other artists could pay a non- refundable nominal application fee to become a seller. The application process would include identity verification of some sort so that BB knows the real name behind the screen name. These sellers would pay their “commission fee” up front for each listing, a portion of which would be non-refundable in the event that the listing was removed whether by seller or by BB. The amount and frequency of listings allowed would be restricted for these artists . These listings would have to be approved by staff to go live on the site to assure quality standards. These artists would be considered probationary until they have sold 3 dolls on the platform. Positive customer reviews might expedite this to 2 dolls sold. These artists would be on a seperate tab with a disclaimer banner stating that they are applicants for trusted seller status and not currently backed by BB. Upon graduating to a trusted artist level, they would receive the badge and all other perks.
A reporting tool on all probationary listings/artists should be made available to all registered sellers to aid in quick censure/removal of artists found to be abusing the platform. (IE: misrepresentation, knockoff kits, etc…) Once activated, this flag would automatically hide the listing and/or artist until it could be reviewed by BB. There would need to be rules in place to keep this feature from being abused. “Pull the alarm” without due cause? First time: warning. Second time: suspension. Third time: ban hammer. I don’t know whether it’s possible to implement something like this, but I wholeheartedly support it. Community policing can work wonders and many artists here can spot fakes, scams, and low confidence sellers a mile off.
@Babies, I was going off of the information I received in the email from bb regarding the possible criteria for being able to sell on this possible new platform. I understand it was an example given and nothing is set in stone yet. I feel the 1000.00 criteria will definitely be very limiting. Since I’m not on fb I appreciate all information on this topic and I agree with the above person, it would be good to have a post on the issue here so we can throw out ideas.
Sorry, I haven’t read through the entire thread so excuse me if it’s been asked but the having to have sold X amount of dolls thing; How would that information be collected?
