I just started rooting Remi-Ashton and was hoping to get some feedback about her hairline from those who have completed her, or have seen some that you think looked good. Her head is oddly shaped, I haven’t done my rooting map yet because of this and I’m not sure how to do her front hairline with her head shape. I’ve seen so many that are beautifully painted but have really odd hairlines, some that have these great lines with finely rooted hair down the forehead, which I don’t know how to do and don’t think will look natural with lighter colored hair. Her big forehead bump would make my normal hairlines look bad, I think it would anyways. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you @katieperry maybe I will copy you a bit and cover her forehead. I hate that I have this vision of her hair that doesn’t match her head shape or coloring I’ve already started.
And for anyone that missed the Remi-Ashton @ellakabella painted it is absolutely stunning. I hope you don’t mind me posting your picture! But you’re baby is absolutely amazing. I don’t know how I missed her when you first posted her! That is the exact type of fine forehead hair I was talking about really liking but not getting sure I can do it correctly or to look naturally with blonde hair.
OMG this baby is amazing
Such a beautiful baby, you ladies are so talented
You are so kind!
Somewhere I read that you should start right where the head begins to be flat. So right after the curve. But some babies have high foreheads some low. I have a low hairline and wearing a wig looks ridiculous on me because I have to pull it too far down on my forehead.
Aww thank you so much! I absolutely adore this sculpt!
Thank you! You are so sweet
My rooting isn’t completely finished, but wanted to see what you guys thought of the hairline, if I should bring it lower or if it looks ok?
Good. I don’t root but if I did, I would probably put some baby hairs in the front of the front hairline you have, to just bring it a tad lower and give it some more shape, but have it be baby fine, so that you can see it but it’s not too heavy looking. And sweep the fine hairs to the side like the hair farther back is. If that makes sense.
Thank you for the suggestion! I will add baby hairs to the front.
Lighting is not my friend today, but does this look better? I did a bunch of baby blonde hairs, but you can’t see them in photos, so I also painted some light brown. Ugh I wish I had rooted this baby with darker hair, it would have made these baby hairs so much easier! And excuse the super messy hair, baby still needs a haircut!
Girl same! I have no forehead
I like it. What you could possibly do is root in some darker hairs in with the light ones (not on forehead but other parts of the head and/or around the crowns). Some use two or three colors of mohair.
Thank you! I listed her already, but if she doesn’t sell in the next few weeks I may pluck out some hairs and add some dark brown. I used a combo of nutty, golden brown, and a light brown, but the end result is really light. I wish I would have mixed in some dark brown as well so the end result was a light/medium brown. I swear mohair always looks so much darker in the bag than it ends up looking in a head!
It definitely does look darker in the bag. She is really cute as she is, though!
