After you finish painting your reborn… What is your favorite way to texture their limbs to prevent any loss of paint or shine?
I’m interested in how you do it. I’ve tried lots of ways with thick mediums, matte varnish, etc.
But I can’t seem to get what I want out of it… a smooth yet slightly rough feel (but not too rough) If that makes sense?
If you know of any great links for this I’d appreciate it! Thanks!
I really like Deco Art Soft Touch Varnish with the blue label! Turns out very Matte and Soft! When pounced on also gives that semi rough texture but still silky soft. Does that make sense?
Thanks! And yes that makes total sense
Good you’re welcome
I couldn’t find it in store but, I ordered mine from Walmart.com
Yep that’s it Love it!!!
Awesome! Thank you
Do you use the pure Deco Art or do you thin it down? If so what do you use to thin it.
Good question ~ I’d have to find out
Do you thin it down or use it straight out of the container? Thanks
Straight
Like Nikki said straight out the jar but, I like to add a little paint to mine to add a little last minute color. I usually mix a peachy red color for Caucasian babies but, any color would work
Is it air dry? and can it go over GHSP?
Yes, it is air dry. I’ve heard a few people say as long as the GHSP is completely cured it’s okay a few on this forum have used it over GHSP but, I’m not sure if they had problems later? I think Nikki may have tried it and she’s GHSP I believe. @Nikkiroc?
Hey Jenni Did you and your daughter have a blast? I saw some of your pics it looked awesome! Did you get any new kits or a reborn?
We had fun. It was a short trip so it went by fast. We got to meet all the ladies that were there from the forum and Laura Lee Eagles, and Denise Pratt. I talked to Nevin for a minute and aslo Jacky Kramer and her son.
We didnt take spending money so we did not buy anything but we had fun seeing everything, voting on the contest babies and meeting the lovely forum ladies!
Next time I will definitely plan on doing the whole thing! We went to the baby shower and sat with @JillianJade. My daughter got a kit in her gift and some onesies, and a bottle with candy in it. I got some diapers, a homemade onesie and a crocheted blanket. A diaper baby that was made with a diaper, onesie, mitts, and headband. And Jillian gave us all a little gift bag with micro preemie diaper, beauty blender, hospital bracelet, and a small make up brush. (thanks again @JillianJade, oh and I have to wait til wed, then will send you some $ for the paci)
Awe sounds like fun!!! It must have been great meeting all the girls!!! I’m really really hoping to be there next year!!! Thanks for all the pictures!!! I loved peeking in here and there!!!
Aaww that’s so cool you met people from the forum!
I went to Rose last year in Denver & had a table. It was my first time doing a doll show & I was a ball of nerves!!! I didn’t go this year because of the expense & wanted to do a family vacation this summer instead. I live in PA & I remember looking into flight costs to Utah and it was just too much. So maybe next year! Glad you had a good time!!!
Do you use it over GHSP or air dry?
I use mine over air dry but, I’ve heard a few others say they’ve used it over GHSP. I’m not sure what the results are when applied on top of GHSP over time. I don’t think it’s been long enough to tell…
